Services on Wednesday at The Bible Church, Ames Road, Columbia, South Carolina with burial to follow in Lincoln Cemetery, 4900 Farrow Road, Columbia, South Carolina.

Ms. Barbara Jean Owens was born on March 13, 1947 in Winnsboro, South Carolina.  She was the fourth child of the late Robert Owens and Earline Ashford Owens.  She departed this life on Saturday, July 17, 2010.

Ms. Owens was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina.  She graduated from C. A. Johnson High School.  After thirty (30) years of dedicated service, she retired from the State Hospital.

Ms. Owens was baptized at an early age and later joined Bible Church in Columbia, South Carolina.  She was a dedicated member of the Missionary Board, where she served faithfully.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Earline Owens; and two sisters, Rosetta Brunson and Shirley Furtick.

Ms. Barbara Jean Owens leaves to cherish her precious memory: her brothers, Robert Owens, Jr. and Thomas (Melita) Owens; her sisters, Juanita (Odell) Furtick, Margaret (Glormack) Kelly, Mary Smith, and Irene (Harold) Williams, all of Columbia, South Carolina; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, many other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
