Mr. Houey graduated from Granard High School in Gaffney South Carolina and Denmark Technical College. He taught tailoring for 31 years and received numerous awards and recognitions: National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education, South Carolina Technical Education Award, Denmark Technical College Outstanding Service Award, Outstanding Educator of the Year Instructor Award and Distinguished Alumni Award.
