Doris Leevy Johnson

Doris Leevy Johnson is the Public Relations Director of Leevy’s Funeral Home and the Secretary/Treasurer of our parent company, Leevy Johnson Funeral Home, Inc.  A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Doris is a graduate of C. A. Johnson High School, West Virginia State University and the Ohio State University.  A lifelong educator, she began teaching at W. A. Perry Middle School, and was on the last faculty of Booker T. Washington High School in Columbia, South Carolina.  After rearing her children, she returned to work at Benedict College; first as a Freshman Counselor, Director of Title III and recently retired as the Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement.  Doris has been married to our owner since 1968 and has two sons, George and Chris, both licensed funeral directors.  She is the doting grandmother of four: Rachel, Ryann, Leah, and Ian.
