Mr. Harland Jarrod Brown

Harland Jarrod Brown was born on February 22, 1971 in Prosperity, South Carolina to the late Sammie Brown, Jr. and the late Carolyn Kaye Means. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Sammie Brown, Sr. and Dola Brown and his maternal grandparents; Willie Adams and Louetta Means. He departed this life on Sunday, May 16, 2021. At an early age Harland was baptized at Little River Presbyterian Church in Blair, South, Carolina. Harland attended McCrorey-Liston Elementary School in Blair, South Carolina; St. Andrews Middle School in Columbia, South Carolina and Columbia High School “Class of 1989” in Columbia, South Carolina where he played football and basketball. He later attended Baptist College in Charleston, South Carolina on a football scholarship. Harland passionately known as “HB” and “Buckhead” to former classmates and friends was a high school athlete, a friend to all and a peace maker. He was loyal to his friends and family, but once you were considered a friend you were his family. Harland loved his immediate and extended family members immensely. He enjoyed being in their company and them in his. He provided for his family and his pride was never questioned. His eyes were not big enough for his beautiful grandchildren. He was a man that shared his love, finances, heart and time with all of his family. Harland was a devoted and loving father to Morgan Drakeford (Curtis), Alexah Brown, Khelci Brown, Mario Russell, and Kennedy Armstrong. He was granddad to Tyler, Mordeci, Kodie, Maverick and Skyler. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his brother, Sanders Means (Keisha) and sister Shatara Young and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends that loved him dearly.
