Mrs. Carolyn Williams Dowd

Mrs. Carolyn Rena Williams Dowd was born in Clover, SC on June 8, 1957. She was the daughter of John Rawlinson and Alberta Williams Carroll. Carolyn departed this life, for her final resting place on May 18, 2021; at the age of 63. Carolyn graduated from Highland High School, in Gastonia, NC. She began her career in nursing, which was her passion and joy for over 40 years. She eventually started her own business, and became self-employed with Dowd Homecare. Carolyn’s pride was in taking care of others. She would always give her last to anyone who needed it; she never expected anything in return. She made Greensboro her permanent residence. Carolyn met Walter and after a long-standing friendship they were happily married January of 1995. They celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary this year. Anyone who was around them felt their love for one another. Walt loved him some Babycake! Carolyn enjoyed spending time with family, especially listening to “Knot” sing. She loved cooking big meals, taking trips, and of course shopping. And everyone knew how much she loved the Lord! With her passing, Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Walter Dowd, III; her children: Corelli Dowd, Shavonne Dowd, Brandy Lionel, Kyndra Dowd (Steve) McCain, and Kanasha Dowd; her parents: Alberta Williams Carroll and John Rawlinson (Geraldine); siblings: Ronnie, Ernest (Sandra), Travis, Rashawn (Monique), Lacashia (Kenneth), Tyrica, Jennifer, John Wayne, Anthony Craig, and Angela; six grandchildren: Jacquile, Merkye, Earth, Autumn, Kaleb, and Jael; one great-grandson: Jair; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends, all of whom will miss her.
