Mr. James A. Lewis

Mr. James A. Lewis was born July 11, 1942, to Joseph and Elizabeth Jenkins Lewis in Brooklyn, New York. He departed this life on Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was preceded in death by: his parents. James was a graduate of Nathan Hill High School, Brooklyn, New York. He established his private painting and remodeling business, and he was a successful business owner in all four boroughs of New York. Upon moving to South Carolina, Mr. Lewis became employed by the University of South Carolina as the Quality Control Administrator. Mr. Lewis was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, USA. He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his loving wife of forty-four years, Lois Keels Lewis; three daughters, Denise Lewis, Elsbeth Lewis, of Brooklyn, New York, and Wilma Goins, of Columbia, South Carolina; one stepdaughter, Valerie Pinto (Phillip), of Ghana, Africa; one son, Zakiy Malik Lewis (Maimoona), of Brooklyn, New York; one stepson, Darryl House (Jacqueline), of Greenville, South Carolina; two brothers, Joseph Lewis (Judy) and Douglas Lewis, both of Brooklyn, New York; a sister-in-law, Ira Keels Scott; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
