Ms. Angelica Vonte’ Johnson

Ms. Angelica Vonté Johnson was born on January 14, 1991. She was the daughter of Jennifer G. (Michael) Marshall and Christopher (Pearl) Johnson. On Friday, June 18, 2021, our Angel gained her wings. Angelica attended the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina. She attended Bradley Elementary School, W. G. Sanders Middle School, and graduated from W. J. Keenan High School. She also attended and excelled at Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology. Angelica loved her children more than anything in the world. Angelica was a strong, dedicated, and proud person. She loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. Her goal was to make anyone she ever came in contact feel welcome. She is the only person I know that could eat all day, and never gain any weight. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Vonté. She loved gathering with friends and family. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. She was preceded in death by: grandmother, Annette G. Harvin; a special aunt, Seonya Prophet; grandfathers, Freddie Parkers, Sr. and Bennie Lee Johnson, Sr. Ms. Angelica Vonté Johnson is survived by: her fiancé, Byron Thompson; son, Byron Thompson, Jr.; four daughters, Za’ Maurya Mitchell, Za’ Niyah Mitchell, Trinity Thompson, and Robyn Thompson; sisters, Shabreka Brown and Tierra Gallman; brothers, Stecardo Grissett, Antonio Daquan Grissett Zamoréy M. Marshall, Travis Grissett, Christopher Johnson, and Ethan-Charlie Ellis; grandfathers, Lynn Geiger, Michael Marshal, Sr. William Fleming, Jr. and Moses Harvin; grandmothers, B. Dianne Marshall and Joan Johnson; aunts, Vertell Simato, Retia Grissett, Aunty Faye, Kissy Johnson, LaPeatra Anderson, Breanda Johnson, Merinda Bellamy, and Freda McCray; uncles, Unka Av, Randy (Chris) Grissett, Ira Grissett, Kenyordo Grissett, Fredrick Parker, Benjamin Johnson, Freddie Parker, III, Jerome McDaniel, Steve Grissett, and Jaqcuill Johnson; father of two of Angelica’s children, Dwalen Mitchell; goddaughter, Keyonna McCants; best friends, Caroline Glover, Nina Dorman, Khadijah Olds, Keyonda Malloy, and Quanesia Harris; a host of other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
