Ms. Joyce Elaine Griffin Scott

Ms. Joyce Elaine Griffin Scott was born on November 17, 1958, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the daughter of George and Isabell Stearns Griffin. She was the eldest child of seven children. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, in Columbia, South Carolina. Joyce was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, until her health began to fail. Joyce was affectionately called Jazzy Joyce by all who knew her well. Joyce was a great event planner. She loved planning activities for her family, such as Easter Egg Hunts, Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, and hosting game nights. If you knew Joyce really well, you would know that she enjoyed playing Bingo. Ms. Joyce Elaine Griffin Scott leaves to cherish her precious memory: two sons, Kendell Griffin and Ivan Griffin; four sisters, Mary (Ricky) Gilyard, Lucille Griffin, Wanda Griffin, and Sherly Javis, all of Columbia, SC; one brother, Cornell Griffin, of Columbia, SC; her grandchildren, Ka’Mya Griffin, Iyanna Griffin, Ja’Kayla Odom, Kameron Boyles, Jaylin Griffin, Zariah, Robyn, Kiara, and Dimitri Scarborough; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
