Ms. Tawanda Latasha Diaz was born on August 2, 1984 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the oldest child of Mr. Mikey Diaz and Mrs. Shirley Diaz. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Ms. Diaz was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina. She graduated from Columbia High School, Class of 2002. After high school, she attended Fayetteville State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She later attended Liberty University, earning two Master’s degrees in Management and Leadership, Human Services, Marriage and Family Counseling. She was employed at Johnston County Department of Social Service of North Carolina, as a Staff Development Specialist.
Tawanda was baptized at an early age and joined the Second Nazareth Baptist Church. She was once a member of the W. M. Bowman Youth Choir and a part of the Junior Missionary Ministry.
Tawanda enjoyed traveling, sports, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Mr. Hampton Johnson and Mrs. Inetta Johnson and Mrs. Virginia Camps.
Ms. Tawanda Latasha Diaz leaves to cherish her precious memory: her parents, Mr. Mikey Diaz and Mrs. Shirley Diaz; grandfather, Mr. Ronald Camps; sister, Mrs. LaShonda (Clarence) McCauley; brother, Mr. Mikey J. Diaz, Jr.; niece, Ms. Jay Cobb; nephew, Mr. Cadence Cobb; godchild, Miss A’aliyah Davis; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
I JUST found out about the passing of my dear friend. God bless your soul and my condolences to your family. I will miss you.
I am still grieved by the loss of my dear friend Diaz. It’s been one month today and I just can’t shake the sadness I am feeling. My heart goes out to her family and other friends that are experiencing what I’m experiencing! Diaz, you are truly missed.
