Ms. Jimmie Lee McCullough was born on November 16, 1938 in Gaffney, South Carolina. She was the youngest child of Jim and Florence Green. She departed this life on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. She was baptized at an early age and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior as a long-standing member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Gaffney, SC. She was a devoted mother of her daughters and a dedicated Foster Parent for over 30 years until retiring. Ms. McCullough loved to read her Bible and her favorite verse was “Jesus Wept.” She was a talented seamstress and was well known for her handmade quilts that she made for loved ones and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Jim and Florence Green; brothers, Jack, Leroy, Billy, Bobby, BC, Elworth, Jerome, McArthur, and Ben Henry Green; sisters, Mary Etta Dawkins, Dorothy Bonner, Betty Dawkins, and Mamie Ruth Harris. Ms. Jimmie Lee McCullough leaves to cherish her loving memory: her daughters, Yvette M. Staley, of Columbia, SC, Jane M. Wood, of the Home, Petula (Harold) Whitfield, of Beaumont, TX, and Angelica D. Washington, of Columbia, SC; nine grandchildren, Christopher McCullough, Kiara Wood, Katrina Whitfield, Jackson Whitfield, Kellie Goodwin, Jonathan Whitfield, Jermaine McLean, Jr., Tremaine McLean, and Josiah McLean; one great-granddaughter, Madelyne Haggins; a host of bonus children, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
