  4. Dear beloved Family of Rev. Dr. West,

I have been deeply saddened to hear of Rev. West’s passing. He was a great inspiration to me, since becoming our pastor in my teenage years. A very wise and dignified speaker, who always had time for a word, even for the youngest of hearts. He shared the Word and his love for God in a way that anyone could understand and was just one of the kindest people you would ever want to meet. We feel especially blessed to have had Rev. West join my husband and I together in holy matrimony.

Please know that you are all in our prayers, Family. I pray that the Lord will comfort you and grant you peace beyond all understanding in the days and years ahead.

    With love,

Jacqulyn McKie Lewis (Darnel) and Family

The joy you brought to our lives as youth just to be able to rush into your study after service to get candy out of the tall candy dish after service. You made us feel welcome and appreciated. I thank you for your service. Wow! Rest well, Rev. West. We miss you.

West united several staff in marriage and provided spiritual support during their highs and lows. Even in his role as a Registered Nurse at DMH , Rev. West displayed compassion, as he passed meds His laughter and bright smile will forever remain in our hearts . Wear your “Brand New Wings” and “Celestial Robe” with “Heavenly Pride”. 🕊
