  7. We go way back. Both grow up in the Golden Acres area. Him on Columbia College Drive and Norman Street and me on Norman Street. After we both left the military, we were together at the old Midland Tech on Sumter Street. Haven’t seen him since Prayers to all the family and close friends

  9. To the family of my brother Earl Portetfield. My love to all. Earl was my friend and brother. He told me come to Eau Claire and play football. He played sandlot ball with us. He had a auto. He rode us to play sandlot against ft. Jackson soldiers. We attended church Union Baptist old and New church. Earl was a pool shark. I learned from him. He was a devoted son and brother. Last time we talked he told me how he loved his car. Earl attended my game before he entered Army. He came to see me when he came home. Truly a friend and à provider family man. RIP RED POETERFIELD. we called him Red. True homeboy.
