Justin was born on May 29, 1982, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Leroy Johnson, Jr. and the late Johnnie Mae Porterfield-Johnson. Justin was their only child.   God in his infinite wisdom, called him home to rest on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, at his home.

Justin was a member of Gunter’s Chapel Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Lewis Gunter. He attended Irmo High school in Columbia, South Carolina. Justin loved all sports, and he especially enjoyed fishing with his Dad, Grandmother, and Uncles at their lake house.  Justin was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, Leroy Sr., Louise Johnson, and Johnie Porterfield, Sr.; uncles, Harvey Johnson, Alvin Johnson, and Earl Porterfield, Sr.; aunts, Hazel Chong and Lou Evelyn Gunter.

Justin leaves to cherish his memory: his caring and devoted father, and BEST friend, Leroy Johnson, Jr.,  who faithfully assisted and cared for Justin throughout his illness; his grandmother and fishing partner, Helen Porterfield; his uncles and aunts, Pastor Lewis Gunter, Doris (Hubert) Williams, Helen (Curtis) Belton, Vivian (Edward) Thomas, Barbara (Ronnie) Walters, Linda (Cameron) Evans, Johnie (Jennifer) Porterfield, Jr., Cynthia Mayers-Porterfield, Helen (Rickey) Spann, Annette Caro-Cummings, Alma (Wadwe) Anderson, Mary Johnson and Paul Chong; a host of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Although Justin is no longer with us physically, he can never be forgotten in any of our hearts.   “TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY AND TO BE  PRESENT WITH THE LORD”  ( KJV) 2COR 5:8.
