  2. It was my pleasure to teach Gloria when she was a student at Keenan High School and to work with her over 40 years later when we were both elected officers of the Columbia Council of Neighborhoods. Gloria was the dedicated and long-term president of her neighborhood and I was- and I am now- the president of mine. Gloria was always the same sweet, kind, gentle person who got things done. She was respected by everyone- especially me. My sincere condolences to the family and the Greenview community.

  3. My sincere condolences to the family. Even though I live Easter Street I was not aware of her passing. Gloria’s mother and I worked together for many years at Denny Terrace Elementary School, played Pokeno once each month and watched our children grow up and graduate from W J
Keenan. I am so sorry this is late, please accept my sympathy and may God’s love, comfort and peace be with the family.

  4. We, the officers and members of The North Columbia Civic Club extend our sincere condolences to Mr. Stanley Woodard, to Gynessa and Shondra, and all the Woodard family in the loss of your dear loved one, Mrs. Gloria Page Woodard. As the president of this great community and civic organization, she was the epitome of a loyal friend, a great leader, and supporter of the rights for all of the residents of the Greenview community, which includes Farrow Hills and Farrow Terrace. We too, miss our friend. We appreciate the strong legacy she has left for our embrace; for her quiet yet powerfully visible footprints left for us to walk in; and for her respect for godly principles. We all bow our hearts to the sweet will of our Heavenly Father, and release her into His care, understanding that her good work on earth is complete. May you, her family,
be comforted in the peace of God; and be strengthened through His love in the days ahead.
    Sincerely,
    The North Columbia Civic Club

  18. Gloria, my AKA -Theta Gamma and my Greenview- Farrow Terrace sister , I am happy we reconnected on Facebook several years ago. We came from the same hood, attended the same schools, and followed similar paths. Iโ€™m not home too often but I saw you 4 times in the year prior to Covid. It was good to reconnect and share memories. My condolences, hugs, and prayers to your family. Remember death leaves a heartache that no one can heal. But love leaves memories that no one can steal. May those memories help you through this difficult time. May our sister Rest In Peace. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

  22. My heart โ™ฅ๏ธ Aches and goes out to Gloriaโ€™s family. Gloria was a beautiful quiet soul and so supportive. Iโ€™m warmed by the vision of her dancing in the heavens. So dedicated and one of the first members of Southern Grooveline. Such a fine talented with the numbers asset and dancer to a new organization helping us to do good and bring joy to others. I learned from her and appreciated her so much. I have nothing but smiles remembering Gloria. She believed in Dance While You Can and will be joining others dancing above

  28. I met Chick in 1977 when I became Pooh’s roommate in Columbia Hall at USC. Chick, along with Pooh and Lizzie let me hang with them and during that time and partly due to Chick’s influence, I decided to pledge Alpha Kappa Alpha.

Chick was indeed a special person. The earth’s loss is heaven’s gain.

To Gloria’s family, fellow sorors, and friends, hopefully you can find strength and take comfort in the memories you shared. They will always be a part of you and will keep her close forever.
