  1. To Rev. Janis Kohn English & family:

    Dearest Janis:
It is with a reflective lens that I share with you nearly 5 months following the departure & burial of Reverend Joseph English, your helpmate for life and “a man after God’s own heart”
But he was also your collaborative partner in the Ministry that you shared for so many years,
& the Father of the children you bored & raised together.

That is just the beginning of who he was, for it is well documented of the impact he has had over the tenure of his life as an educator in Lexington School District Two with the thousands of students he loved & truly cared for as if they were his own.

He may have been small in stature, but he was a “giant of a man” in the impact, import, & important influence he had on his colleagues & students in the classroom & in the Ministry for so many years.

His time in this earthly life has concluded, as he has left a dying world to continue eternal life.

He now safely abides in the arms of his Lord & Savior, whom he praised & worshipped through his deeds and actions for a lifetime!

May he forever be remembered for who he was and whose he was!

    To God Be the Glory!

  3. Mr. English was the best. He always confused my brother and I so finally he would simply call me brother number (oldest) and my younger brother was brother number two. He signed my 8th grade yearbook, “To the number one brother I always confused for number two, enjoy high school and now I will no longer confuse the two of you”. He was very approachable.

  39. What a shining example of a man, husband, father , grandfather , brother . uncle , pastor , mentor. My first reaction was who will preach the preacher’s homegoing as only he could. The community , body of Christ is better because he was among us. Family know you’re in our thoughts and prayers. Rev English has joined the great cloud of witnesses.

  42. Reverend Janice English and Family:

Please accept my most sincere condolences during this time of bereavement. Reverend Joseph English had a significant impact on my life. I was saved and grew under his Spiritual leadership, he officiated at my wedding, and he christened my first daughter. He most certainly will be missed! Remember Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
