  1. Sharing with the Holt
family as so many have previously of this
distinguished Woman of Faith, this beautiful
jewel of a lady who influenced, and impacted so many lives in the educational & faith arena.

I did not have her as a professor at Benedict as I was a science major. However she was my dear friend during my tenure, who
    inspired & encouraged
    me as a positive influ-
    ence in my life.
    She was dearly loved &
admired by all wbo were familiar with her
    sunny disposition.
She will forever remain in my heart as an unforgettable personality as she rest from her labor and sleep in heavenly peace eternally!

  5. My soul rests easier knowing that you suffer no more. You were the greatest and realest woman I had the pleasure of being in my life. My dad might have named me after a queen to know my worth, but you taught me how to value my worth. My choice to be baptized so young came from the inspiration of your life. And because of your example, I carry God with me everywhere, no matter where I go.

Until we meet again. Love you always, Sister Holt.

Holt. “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to gain, and a time to lose….”(Eccl 3:1)

  11. May the many precious memories you created over the years help to comfort you during this very difficult time. Also, may your trust in our loving God serve to sustain you in the coming days. Without the primary effort of Sister Holt and a few others ensuring the survival of the infant congregation of the Church of Christ at Valley Park (MLK Jr Park) the resulting congregations of the Church of Christ at Ames Road/Park Street/Sunset Blvd./Pontiac/Southeast/North Fort may not have existed which are all fruits borne of the persistent efforts of those pioneers. God bless her as she is reunited with those who have gone on before.

I share your sorrow in the passing of your beloved mother, grandmother, and other kin.

These thoughts are shared in deepest sympathy and loving remembrance.

Alice was a member of our Class of 1958, George Washington Carver High School. She was interested in business subjects. A seed was planted that yielded an abundant crop, a testament to her distinguished career in Business Education.

Not only did Alice succeed professionally; she reaped a harvest in the garden of life because of her devotion to Christ.

On behalf of our Carver Class of ’58, please know we mourn with you but are comforted by God’s promise of Everlasting Life.

May His promise and beautiful memories give you strength, comfort, and peace.

God bless you and keep you in

  14. My sincerest condolences to the Holt family. My Aunt Alice was the best pin curl specialist, all American breakfast connoisseur, late night conversationist, never short on having throat lozenges, massaging Lazyboy expert, advice giver, candid sense of humor, with lady like elegance and I can’t forget her special cup of an evening mixture. Just by mentioning the name Aunt Alice in my presence brought/brings a smile to my face which will last a lifetime. I love my Aunt Alice and I know she always loved me.

  15. Aunt Alice it is hard to comprehend your passing.
You were an exceptional lady. Anyone that had the fortune of knowing you should deem themselves privileged.
You exuded elegance, professionalism and feminity!
Your mere presence demanded instant respect. You ruled with a firm but fair hand. All of your students excelled.
I will treasure the memories from Benedict and your visits to the Bahamas.
Your void is felt and will never be filled as there was only one Alice Holt!
You were best friends with my step-mom, Albertha and adopted Nicholas, Hope and myself as your own!
Thank you for your guidance, encouragement, endless support, your unique sense of humor and most importantly your unconditional love.
    Heaven has gained another angel.

Condolences to Franky, Nick and Shawn.

  20. Condolences to the family and friends of Professor Alice Holt. She was the associate dean in the school of business at Benedict College during my years as a student, and later as professor at the College. One of them many of things I remember most about her was, she flunked her own son in her marketing class. Lol! Like late professor David Kinley, she was tough and thorough. She didn’t play and was one of Benedict’s greatest professors at the time. Most importantly, she accomplished so much as a Zeta! She impacted my life and many other young men and women lives who came through Benedict College during her tenure at the college.

Those who live in our memories are never truly gone.

  31. Where do I start? Sister Holt has been in my life since I was age four or five when we used to have church in a one room building at Valley Park (now known as MLK). She and Brother Holt were truly Christians in word, thought and deed. They went out of their way to pick us up for church. Sunday School, Gospel meetings and they met any need my late grandmother (Sister Elise Hill) made them aware that assistance was needed. My last conversation was with her in February on the phone and she asked me to pray for her. She was such a strong, beautiful, encouraging and steadfast woman of God. I will miss her but I’m so glad to have had the opportunity of having her influence on my life. With Deepest Condolences to the entire Holt Family. Thank you for sharing your beloved Matriarch & Sister in Christ with us. 💜🕊️🙏🏾
