  2. Our deepest sympathies to the Motes family. We will always remember Gelena Motes and her ebullient personality, generosity and kindness. One of my favorite memories of her was dancing at the Heart and Sole Women’s 5 miler while Jalen played music in the background. She was a special soul. Sending ❤️ and our condolences.

  8. In loving memory of our dear Aunt Gelena Robinson Motes (Dump as she was so well know to many of us) May God grant her light and space, peace in abundance, and rest that surpasses all understanding. May He comfort our hearts and minds and place His loving arms around us to guide and ease our troubled minds as we move beyond this day.
May His light shine upon us, to guide us every step of the way. Dear Lord, let not the passing of our dearly beloved aunt Dump cause us to forget Your will and Your decree for our lives. Let it bring us ever closer to You. For we are truly grateful for the time You allowed us to spend with our dear Aunt Gelena. Amin

  13. “Miss MOTES” as I always addressed her as she was one of my 7th grade teachers and was truly one of my favorite teachers back in the day. I recall her sharing with me that one of her sons was also named Henry. Fast forward to many years later her son Henry and I met up at South Carolina State and became the best of friends. He was even in our wedding. Our deepest condolences to the Mote’s Family.

  26. My sincere condolences to Marinda, Henry and Tricia, Dan, Jimmy, Grands and the entire Motes family. What an awesome mother you had in Mrs Motes! Although it’s been some years ago, I had the pleasure of working with her. She daily modeled Godly Grace, patience love and every spiritual fruit. She was indeed a class act! Thank you for sharing her. (No doubt, Longevity was also her portion!) May your memories and the peace of God rest, reign and rule in your hearts now and forevermore!
Much love and respect, Julia and the entire Murray family
