I was sad to hear about the passing of Mr. Percy. I met all of you years ago while attending Benedict College. I worked at the US Postal B Service with Percy. Your family was very dear and loving to me. Your family have my deepest condolences during this sad time. I will keep the family in my prayers now and in the days to come. Love you all.

  7. To the family, you remain in my prayers. Thank you, Pop Morant, for sharing Mother Morant and your family with your extended kids from Benedict College. I’ll miss your humor during our visits, our card games, or even just watching sports together. May you continue to rest in God’s love and peace until we meet again.

  9. Maxine, my heart is with you, the children, and grandchildren during this time of loss. My late husband and Percy shared a lifelong bond—they grew up together in Holly Hill, worshiped together at Target AME Church, and carried that friendship with them when they moved to Columbia. Those memories, and the moments our families spent together, will always be deeply cherished. Please know that you are surrounded by our love and prayers. We love you dearly.

  11. Mr. Morant was “cool” and his smile brightened up the room. I wish I would have known him prior to his time at the VA when he was living his life. I enjoyed working with him the last 15 years and he will be missed.

  18. It is with deep sadness that I offer my condolences to you and the Morant family during your time of loss. Mr. Morant was a man of few to no words during the time I worked with him but he had a way of communicating to let you know what he wanted to say. He was a gentle soul and easy-going with an humble spirit. He was well loved by all staff who cared for him. My prayer is that God will comfort, strengthen and keep each of you during your time of loss. “A big THANK YOU” to Mr. Morant for his service and sacrifice to this country for our freedom! Rest in peace, Mr. Morant (Psalm 116:15)
