  4. In 1997 we move to Riverview Terrace across from Mr. Charles and Barbarel Blakely. Living there we became neighbors, served on different committees, went to Sams and became friends. I learn a lot from being around Mr. Blakely. He didn’t want you to do anything for him, he wanted to be able to do for himself. I would tell him let us do it, you deserve it. Mr. Blakey will be missed. I know you are back with Mrs, Blakely. RIP my friend.

  5. We remember Charles Blakely— a beloved uncle, great uncle, and brother-in-law, and someone who brought kindness, laughter, and warmth into the lives of so many. His presence meant a great deal to our family, and his memory will continue to live on through the love he shared and the moments we were blessed to have with him.
Though words can never fully express the sadness of this loss, we are grateful for the time we had with him and the impact he made on those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Rest peacefully, Charles. ❤️ Emma, Karen and Eva

  7. Charlette, sincere condolences are extended to you and your family during this time of bereavement. Your dad was the head of the math department at Webber High School when I began my 36 years teaching career in Richland One. He was an extraordinary mentor. I learned a lot under his leadership and guidance. You later became one of our Columbia High students. It was great having you as a dedicated, hardworking member of the Cap-A-Lettes service club. I also have fond memories of your mom . May your dad rest in peace as he joins her in the heavenly home . I will continue to lift you in prayer 🙏

  9. Dear Family of my dear colleague , & friend, Mr. Charles Blakely at CA Johnson HS:

As a young & inexperienced teacher who was in her early years as a teacher, I found Mr. Blakely to be a breadth of “fresh air”.

He shared wisdom, knowledge and sound advice of how to navigate in a new environment and definitely how to manage a classroom of students a few years younger than the teacher in front of them.

I must admit that it was sound, and well received knowledge he shared often and always att the right time for me .

It was like having a “sharing and caring” session that you needed even when you didn’t realize how much his
wise counsel meant for any given situation .

I was most appreciative of a man like Charles Blakely , seeing my worth, as a young teacher and who took me under his wings for rich counsel and good, positive advice at time of need.

I found out that was just him being who he was and whose he was!

To God be the glory for allowing our paths to cross at such an instrumental
time in my growth and development as an “upstart teacher” at that time.

May the goodness of a loving God, continue to sustain you , his family, at a time such as this.
Remembering lovingly. a good & gracious educator and mentor for me.
