  2. Linda, so very sorry to just learn of Barnes transition. Charlie English introduced him to me and we became friends and co-laborers with the Greater Farrow Road Community Development Foundation. I recall how ecstatic he was when he announced the two of you had gotten married. May pleasant memories and God’s love strengthen you in the days ahead.

  8. I knew James from our Sunday school class on Fort Jackson. He was a giving person. He gave us bibles to correspond with our book. He was consistent with our men’s ministry and a regular attendee of our service until he got sick and even then he attended online. It was clear he loved God. He was surrounded by family when I met and prayed with him last December. I look forward to our heavenly inheritance together. He was an inspiration in many ways.

  9. Sending my deepest condolences to the Barnes family at such a difficult time. I first met James when he married my first cousin Linda. James always had smile on his face when we there was a family gathering. James will truely be missed but never forgotten. Sleep on my friend cause you have now earned your WINGS.

  12. I have known James for over 58 years. We were station together in Germany on two different occasions. He was a great friend and brother in Christ Jesus. He always had good advice to offer in many situations, and certainly was a great family man. My prayers go out for Linda and the rest of the family, that God may give them comfort during this difficult time. His journey on this side of Jordan is over, but he will never be forgotten.
