Deacon Willie Hitler Robinson was born March 21, 1942, to the late James and Adell McKenzie Robinson. He departed his earthly life on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at his residence. He was employed with the City of Columbia Water Division. He retired in 2008. At an early age, he accepted Jesus as his Savior, and was baptized at Little Bethlehem Church, on Heidt Street. In 1975, he joined First Nazareth Baptist Church, and was ordained as a deacon on January 18, 1987. He was an active member of the Senior Musical Choir, Eulogistic Choir, Brotherhood Chorus, Brotherhood Club, The Wednesday Night Male Bible Study, The United Baptist Deacons Ministry, and Deacon for the Missionary Ministry. He was also a volunteer to the Lyon Street Elementary School Reading Program. In earlier years, he was a lead singer for the Southern Trumpets Gospel Quartet. His hobbies were: playing golf and pool. Deacon Willie Robinson is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Louise Blocker Robinson; one daughter, Patricia Robinson (Ron) Bell; three brothers, Leroy Robinson, John Robinson, and Joseph Robinson; three sisters, Edna Robinson, Dorothy Gilmore, and Joyce Marie (Stephon) Harris, all of Columbia, SC; a devoted nephew, Jeff Smith, Sr., of Cleveland, OH; a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
