  2. Still can’t believe this is real. I’m so thankful that our paths crossed in 2003. You went from being a mentor to like a second mom to me. You and your kids really helped me get through A LOT since I was a teenager. You had such a nurturing spirit and a selfless love for your community. I can only hope I have the impact on people’s lives the way you did. Get your rest Momma Sonya. Love you always.

  14. Sonya was a true warrior and advocate for justice…with all that she went thru…it made her a mentor to others….I was fortunate to get one of the last sets of your books on Wednesday, May 4th at our Women Veterans Empowerment Mothers Day Luncheon where you were an awesome speaker….Sonya insisted on taking the time to sign my 3 books…..what a beautiful soul. I speak of her in the present because it’s hard to believe that she’s gone….and for sure I’m reading her story in her books….wow

  60. Words are inadequate for a woman of this type of virtue. Dr. Lewis, who I, still call mom was and still IS a woman of virtue. For your value is worth far more than rubies. The trials and tribulations that you have gone through only fueled full confidence within you and because of that, there was no lack. Thank for being absolutely amazing. For not only talking the talk but indeed walking the way. The legacy that you have left behind will go far beyond what the mind can conceive. I believe that you have done a great work and when God is soon to return, “Well done thy good and faithful servant” has your name written all over it.

I love you more than you will ever know, mom!

    With love,
