  1. Mr. McKie and my dad were close friends from their high school days. Maybe before. As such, I have fond memories of our families connecting on multiple occasions. Mr. McKie was a true renaissance man. There wasn’t too much he couldn’t do. I was truly blessed to see him last year on a trip home. Still sounding every bit like he did 40+ years earlier. Just so youthful and spry. My condolences to Mrs. Violet, Darryl, Tamiko, Stacy, and the entire family. I miss him already.

  37. Dearest Violet & family, both near & far, needless to say, Albert’s transition caught many who knew and admired such a debonair, and pleasant gentleman off guard and unexpected .

I would always expect to see you see you and Albert at least once during our BTW
annual Heritage Weekend Celebration in June.

So ,it goes without saying that he will be sorely missed as the days move forward.

But he will be remembered by many who knew & respected him as a servant of his Lord and Savior and as a dear friend & neighbor, I’m certain.

May the memories of your life with this “Mckie’ man” as your longtime spouse & all that he was to the lineage that remains, help to sustain all of you at a time such as this and beyond the bereavement period .

Know that he now abides lovingly with “his Savior ” until you meet him again!

Thinking of each of you with the assurance that your loved one, Albert, is alright now!

    Sincerely yours, MLK, BTW ’68

  42. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the entire McKie Families. Albert always maintained a very mild demeanor and was a complete gentleman at all times. Two things that we’ll always remember about him was (1) his ushering at Greenview Baptist Church and (2) his supplying his ladies (wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter) gifts on Valentine’s Day. He truly loved his family and people in general! May GOD provide you with the needed strength to guide you through this tedious period of grievance. GOD bless you all.

I will keep all family and friends in prayer 🙏🏽. He’s moved over there, where I’ve heard the gates are pearly and the streets are paved with gold .
