  6. To Lisa and family! Words don’t seem adequate at this time. Please accept my condolences. Bernie was one of a kind, and I was so proud that he was my cousin. We chatted on facebook from time to time and I let him know that he was the oldest living male in our family with the lastname of Cunningham. I have many memories of you all coming to spend the summers in Somerset. We had some of the best times down on Adam Street. Bernie, this is not goodbye, its just so long and see you later for now.. for you are resting in the arms of Jesus, and we’ll all join hands again in that great getting up morning! Love to all of the family

  15. Bernie was a Man that carried the Cunningham name with great pride and dignity. We had the opportunity to observe him and Lisa transition from childhood to adulthood.
We his Kentucky family are honored to have been part of his life on earth. We’re looking forward to seeing him again as we gather around God’s throne. May you his family know that you are in our hearts and prayers.

  18. Kimberly, Lisa, Bertha and family, my heart is deeply saddened at the loss of my “big cousin”, Bernard. I hope I speak on behalf of our family that he was loved by all and will be greatly missed. He was the oldest grandchild and past patriarch in our small Cunningham clan which began with Bernard “Pete” and Stella, our grandparents, and our parents, uncle and aunt, Bernard, Jr., John Allen, Harold Raymond and Evelyn Carol Cunningham. I want you to know that I looked up to Bernie and was always happy to see or hear from him during family vacations in Kentucky, South Carolina and when he came to Baltimore to visit many years ago.

So grateful to be able to communicate and stay in touch by Facebook over the past 12 years or more.

Now we must celebrate his life and keep his memories alive. Bernard is no longer in pain or suffering. He has gained his wings and is present with the Lord. May our Father in Heaven give you strength and comfort during this time of bereavement. Please know that my heart and prayers are with you.

    Love,
    Leslie and Aunt Margaret
