Mr. Cedric Alonzo Davis, the son of Mrs. Mary Canzater and the late Newsy Alonzo Davis, was born August 6, 1972, in Columbia, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in Jackson, Tennessee.

Cedric attended the public schools of Richland County in Columbia, South Carolina. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Eastman Street in Columbia, South Carolina.

Cedric was employed as a truck driver for over 20 years.  Cedric was an excellent husband, father, friend, role model and neighbor, whose gentle warmth, calm spirit, and welcoming smile radiated to those he encountered. His loving ways left all feeling as if they were the most important person in the world. In his presence you felt loved and special.

Cedric was preceded in death by his father, Newsy Alonzo Davis; grandmother, Annie Mae Davis Friday; and Uncle, Samuel Cunningham, Jr.

Left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy are his beloved wife of twelve years, Sekecca Davis, four devoted children: Cedric Alonzo Davis, Jr. (CJ), Newsy Artez Davis, Jada Alana Davis and Kendric Lafayette Davis, Columbia, SC; Stepfather Deacon Teddy Canzater, Columbia, SC; Three loving sisters: Victoria Anita Davis, Orangeburg, Katrese Canzater-Glover, Spartanburg, SC and Constance Alana Davis, Orangeburg, SC. Five brothers: Newsy Jarod Davis, Columbia, SC, Newsy Alonzo Davis (Tiffany), Alonzo Hunter Davis, Robert Arlorenzo Davis (Ebony), Greg Canzater (Liberty) Spartanburg, SC; Grandmother: Reverend Nora T. Cunningham of Columbia, SC, Aunts: Patricia (Edward) Spencer,  Melvine (Timothy) Etheredge, Carolyn Nelson, Callie D. Williams; Uncles: Stanley Jerome (Janet) Davis, Bishop Timothy (Cynthia) Davis, Harry (Theresa) Canzater Columbia, SC. Brower in-laws; Timothy (Latecia) Moses, Lawrenceville, GA, Tiyo McClodden, and Theotis McClodden, Tallulah, Louisiana. Sister in-laws: Tiffani McClodden and Tamosha (Edward) Hall, Tallulah, Louisiana; Mother- In-law:  Inez Moses, of;  Columbus, GA; Father in-law: Otis (Dean) McClodden, Tallulah, Louisiana. Also, left to cherish his memories are a host of loving relatives and friends.
