Mr. Charles Franklin Holloway, affectionately known as Dolla Bill, was born January 13, 1942, in Edgefield, South Carolina, to Ms. Lille Mae Holloway Young, who preceded him in death. He was raised in Cayce, South Carolina. He had a special bond and love for his grandmother, Lillie N. Holloway.
He was employed and retired from Overnight Transportation Company after fifty-two years as a truck driver. He never met a stranger and gave everybody a nickname. He was a pillar in the Cayce -West Columbia Community. He was a lover of NASCAR, The New York Yankees, Pound Cakes, Sweet Potato Pie, and his collection of Big Shiny Cars.
His love and care could be seen daily in the unique bond that he shared with his children, grandchildren, and his sisters. Charles positively impacted all that he met. Known for his affectionate smile and jovial personality, he will be missed tremendously.
He was predeceased by his wife, Thomasina Brown Holloway; his stepdaughter, Barbara Myers; sons, Robert Mack and Charles Dukes; brothers-in-law, Robert Mims, Sr., Roy Thompson, and John Daniels.
Mr. Charles Franklin Holloway leaves to cherish his precious memory: his daughter, Felecia Holloway; son, Zeus Gordon; two sisters, Lucille (Arthur) Smith and Bernice (Dr. Walter) Tobin; two sisters-in-law, Mary Daniels and Evelyn Thompson; sister-in-law, Geneva Mims; brothers-in-law, Frank (Elaine) Mims, Raymond (Wilhelmina) Mims, Cornell (Amy) Mims, and Heyward (Elaine) Mims; three stepdaughters, Jackie Cory, Betty Jo Brown, and Virginia Lee Sewell; his grandchildren, SaMaria (Michael) Prezzy, Braelyn Holloway, and Justyn Woodard; four great-granddaughters, Lauryn Sumter, Londyn Sumter, Aubree Prezzy, and Amari Prezzy; a host of grands, nephews, nieces, many other loving relatives, and caring friends, all of whom will miss him.
Prayers for my sweet sister in Christ Felecia and for your precious family. I am so sorry for this great loss in your lives. I know you have peace because you know where he is going but I also know how hard it is to be present here on earth without him here any longer. May you find comfort in the memories and I pray in Jesus name that your hearts be mended with the love of Christ himself. I love you Sis and will continue to lift you all up in the days ahead.
