Mr. Daniel Wells, affectionately known as “Black”, was born on July 15, 1965, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the youngest child of the late Ms. Louise Wells. He departed this life on December 18-19, 2021.
Daniel was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina and graduated from Dreher High School, Class of 1983.

Soon after high school he married Ms. Joann Morant and remained her spouse until her passing in 2008.
Daniel worked various driving jobs in the city until he acquired his CDL and became a long-distance truck driver all over the United States. Later he would work for the United States Postal Service hauling mail. His final employer was Land Air Transport.

Daniel was a very kind soul, so gentle and always smiling as he offered encouragement. No one was a nicer man than Daniel, but even as a child he was a real sweetheart. Daniel loved being in nature whether it was in parks, or on beaches, or lakes. He also enjoyed playing cards and games, especially Spades. He was an avid sports fan as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel King and Louise Wells, and a brother, Gregg Wells.

Mr. Daniel Wells leaves to mourn his passing; his wife, Cavonda Tracy Fields Wells; stepsons, Xavier Fields, Willie McKinnon, and Calice McKinnon; a brother, Thomas Wells and two sisters Danni (Walter) Priester and Emily (Donald) Korson, all of Columbia South Carolina; many other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom miss him dearly.

  2. My deepest condolences to you and the family. It’s so hard for me to ride by your house everyday knowing that you are no longer on earth with us. You know we were a close little circle and it was a pleasure knowing you for all of these years. It hurts so much because I was there and I can’t get that picture out of my head watching them bringing you out of your. But I Send my deepest sympathy to Vonda and all of the boys. And please know that I am and will always be here for you Vonda and the family. I love you sis.
