Mr. Devon Xavier Powell Young was born on June 28, 2002, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the only son of Michelle Martin Young and Stephon Powell. Devon departed this life on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Devon was educated in the Richland One School District. He worked briefly for American Solid Woven Company (ASW). Devon loved his parents, grandparents, family, and friends. He enjoyed many different things such as: soccer, football, and basketball, which was his favorite. Devon was very caring, compassionate, and a loving man. He was a big jokester, and had a lot of love for children. Mr. Devon Xavier Powell Young leaves to mourn his passing: his parents, Michelle Martin Young and Stephon Powell; and a sister Alivia Powell. He also leaves fond memories with: his stepsisters and stepbrothers, Pamela Martin, Monkia Pickett, both of Columbia, SC, Santana Murphy, of Virginia, Jayden Rowe, Justin Rowe, of the home, Dominque Pickett, Jerrod Pickett, both of Columbia, SC, and Earl Williams, Jr., of Texas; grandparents, Joanna Young, of Columbia, SC, Lelete Buckle, of GA, Courtney Powell, of NY, Walter and Vivian Dukes, of Columbia, SC; aunts, Selena Young, Tamika (Marcus) Brown, Ava (Damian) Young Chislom, of Columbia, SC; Sara Powell, of NY, Barbara Green, of Columbia, SC, and Janice Duckson, of North, SC; uncles, Michael Young, of Columbia, SC, Lorrow Powell, Jamaica, and Coby Powell, of NY, Gary Powell, of Jamaica, Walter Dukes, Jr., Andre Carter, all of Columbia, SC, and Nathaniel Richardson, of North, SC. Devon was very blessed to have had two wonderful stepfathers, Isiah Martin, Sr. and Earl Williams; a host of the loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
