Erica and Auntie, Uncle Jake was a shining light not only in your lives but in the people who met him. I remember meeting Uncle Jake when I came to Columbia years ago. He was so pleasant, yet quiet, and welcoming…he made you feel like you’ve known him forever. He always had a story to tell about the family he loved. He had funny stories about his sisters, brothers and his mom. He was always talking about how good his wife’s cooking was and how he loved watching her working in the yard. I know what it’s like to lose your dad and still wish he were here to chat with. It’s heartbreaking, yet knowing he’s no longer in pain helps you deal with the loss. May the cherished memories of Uncle Jake comfort you and Auntie. You two are in my thoughts and prayers…just a phone call away. Love you cousin and auntie.
