Mr. Frank D. Anderson, Sr.

Mr. Frank D. Anderson, Sr. was born on January 1, 1940, in Columbia, SC. He was the beloved son of Jessie Mae Gleaton and George Ford. Frank was called home on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the age of 81, after battling his illness for some time. Frank was affectionately known as Dude. Frank retired from the Charlotte Housing Authority, after many years of service. After retiring, he returned home to South Carolina, to rejoin his family and friends. To know him was to love him; he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Frank was preceded in death by: his parents, Jessie Mae Gleaton and George Ford; his first wife, Queenie Hopkins Anderson; and a daughter, Mary Anderson James. Left to treasure his memory: his wife, Lizzie Gilmore Anderson, of Columbia, SC; three daughters, Willie Mae Anderson (Tonnie) Gibbs, Carol Anderson (Harold) James, and Deborah Anderson (Dennis) Medlock, all of Columbia, SC; four sons, Frank Anderson, Jr., of Columbia, SC, Anthony Anderson, of Charlotte NC, John David (Deann) Anderson, of Columbia SC, and Irving Anderson, of Greenville, SC; he came to know and love his stepdaughters and their families as his own, all of Columbia, SC; 19 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of other loving relatives and caring friends.
