  2. I extend my sincere condolences to Vince Ford’s family. Mr. Ford talked with an inviting smile and always offered encouraging and supportive words to the administrators in the district he served. I think RCSD1 is a better district because Vince Ford chose to offer his service to his community. May his family find comfort in knowing that Mr. Ford helped more people than they will ever know.

  9. To The Ford Family,
We send our sincere heartfelt condolences and prayers. Know that the mold was shaped to represent a good man, full of integrity, honesty, humbleness and goodness and the mold was called Vince. Butch, as we know him was a true homeboy and friend and the love and support, he and Harry gave to me and my family when we returned home after 30 years will always be remembered and hold special places in our hearts. We wish we had more time to spend together but God said your work was done in this place, work you did to be known for a lifetime and to God be the Glory. Rest now

  10. My deepest condolences to Pat and the Ford family in the sudden passing of Vince ‘Butch’ Ford. I was honored to know Butch through family and as a fraternity brother. Butch was special. He touched lives, lived by the Cardinal Principles of his fraternity, and most importantly he clearly lived his faith. He will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him.

  11. My sincere condolences to the “Ford” family. I am so grateful for your support of ensuring mom ALWAYS received outstanding care whenever she was seen in ER and admitted to RMH. You always took care of others. Your selfless acts of kindness never went unknown.

On September 10. 2022, I called Vince so scared and frantic about the lack of care my 82-year-old dementia mother was receiving in ER at RHM. Vince told me if my mother’s care didn’t improve to call him back, even if it was 2:00a.m. in the morning, he would answer. In less than 15 minutes, I received a called from the ER doctor to tell me someone would come out to get me so I can come in to be with my mother. My mother received a full body work up to determined why she had a stroke and received outstanding care during her few days at RMH…thanks to Vince. I called Vince back the next day and he asked if mom was alright.

I am so honored to have known such a great man! RIP Vince. You will be missed. I leave the family with Psalm 30.

Our NAACP COLUMBIA, SC BRANCH “GOLD LIFE MEMBER” received his wings and ascended Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Mr. Ford has served diligently as a member of the branch as an At-Large member and Education chair for many years. He educated us with his wealth of knowledge referencing education and health issues. As you think of Butch say, “yes that is the smile that I saw him wear always even in a serious mood he would end with this smile”. Thank you, Vince Ford, for your service to all.
To the bereaving Mrs. Patricia Ford, family, and friends, we express our deepest sympathy. Your loss has been his gain. May we be ever mindful that we, too must someday cross over the river, where there will be no more parting and where we may be awarded for a well-spent life. He will be missed but not forgotten.

I respected your husband/father. From our days at B.C. to RCSD1. He earned that respect by being kind and always taking the time to say hello whenever I was in his presence. A true gentleman! May you draw strength from the words of Job found at Job 14:14,15: “If a man dies, can he live again? I will wait all the days of my compulsory service Until my relief comes, You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hand.” May you all find comfort in this promise of a resurrection hope.

in time, that’s how much respect I had for him I couldn’t just call him Vince, I had to add Mr. Ford. Mr. Ford, wasn’t just someone to say he will do something, he was the man to get it done and for that I & my family will be forever grateful. Mr. Ford came in our lives( The Gibbs Family) in May of 2002, the unexpected Tragic death of our daughter Wanda Gibbs. He gave our family comfort in his words & actions visited our home on several occasions. Mr. Ford played an instrumental part by helping us, to get Richland 1 to agree to help us get a scholarship in our daughter Wanda’s name which is currently at USC School of Medicine, help future school students who are financially challenge giving them a chance an opportunity for a greater future. Mr.Ford, was a kind hearted spirited person who believed in equality for all…I will never forget our last conversation a year ago, during the pandemic he told me if you made through your daughter’s passing & you are standing here today than you & all of us, can make it through anything…He will be surely missed a Legend, Hero & Pillar of all our communities

  221. Pat, Marcus, and Robin,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my brother, friend and ex co-worker. Butch and I met at my sister wedding and became the best of friends after he came to work at DAODAS. With kids in school together and having our daughter and his son on the same day around
the same time, in the same hospital our families became family. I’m going to miss my friend, but God knew what was best. RIHP, my friend until we meet again, tell BubbaC and Steve hello for me.
