  1. I and my mother Sandra Boykin Bladen daughter of James “Ham” Bolton send our condolences. And regret that we could not attend. My mother often talks about how Ham and my Grandmother came to Texas when I was born. And will remember all of the summers I came to visit my Grandfather. And I think back to the last time I saw him I bought him 2 cigars. My grandfather gave me the biggest smile. I and mother deeply loved my Grandfather and will miss him.

  4. Uncle Ham, you were absolutely my favorite uncle. I have so many great memories hanging out at your store when I was a little girl. We would sit outside on the wooden bench. You with your cigar and me with a pig foot. We always had great conversations, and you literally spoiled me rotten. So many great childhood memories on that dirt road especially during the summer. You were a great man, and uncle. Tell grandma Nicie, my father Wade, Aunties Amy & Nancy they are all truly missed so much. You will also be truly be missed. May you Rest In Peace and love Uncle Ham.

  11. I am so upset to hear about Ham. He was a sweet gentleman. He was great handyman. Anytime I needed work done to my house etc. he wouldn’t hesitate to come. He would truly be missed. God picked a good man to help keep his Kingdom beautiful. I would stop by to check on him and he was so happy to see me. The lasted time I stopped to check on him, I knocked on the door and he didn’t answer. I thank God he is SAFE IN GODS ARM. R I P my friend and my number one carpenter.

  14. Mr. James Bolton, affectionately known as “Uncle Ham” was a kind man who would help anyone. May your soul rest in peace and your Spirit finds comfort in seeing your Loved Ones again as you take your next journey.

Uncle Ham was the consummate entrepreneur who took pride in his work and ensured everything he did was to perfection. He built houses, owned acres of land which he farmed, raised livestock – pigs and cows, and he had a general store where everyone in the neighborhood patronized. I think carpentry was his favorite. If it wasn’t right and to his standards, he’d tear it down and start over. He was a man of his word and if he said he would do something, it was a done deal.

Continue to rest and thank you for the many times you were kind to me Uncle Ham – Easter basket. “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV)
