Mr. James Charles Williams was born on February 9, 1947, in Columbia, SC. He was the second of five children born to James Williams, Jr. and Mozelle Harriet Timmons Williams. He peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the early morning of Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
James was educated in the public schools of Columbia, SC. He was a proud graduate of C. A. Johnson High School, Class of 1965. He was an outstanding and gifted athlete in all sports and excelled in Track and Field. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and became an Airborne Ranger. As an Airborne Ranger, he bravely and courageously served his country, completing two full tours to Vietnam and receiving several medals of distinction to include: the National Defense Service Medal, the Parachute Badge Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Upon the completion of his two tours to Vietnam, he was honorably discharged from service.
James, affectionately known as JC, was a kind loving person who was adored by his family, friends, and all that he came to meet. His smile and laughter were infectious, and his lively spirit was the light of the room. He was truly loved by his family and friends, and will forever be cherished in their hearts.
JC was preceded in death by: his parents, James Williams, Jr. and Mozelle Timmons Williams; two sisters, Jean Williams Fuller and Robbie Lee Williams Bragg; and a brother, Lanny Williams, Sr.
Mr. James Charles Williams leaves to cherish his loving memory: his son, Travis Eikner; granddaughters, Isis, Neteru, and Drew Eikner; as well as a great-grandson, Pax Howard, all of Atlanta, GA; his beloved brothers, Hallern Eugene Williams, of Columbia, SC, Albert Guinyard, Allen Guinyard, and Eric Guinyard, all of Newark, NJ; loving sisters, Angela Dennings, of Fayetteville, NC, Janet Donton, of Malberry, Fl, Adrienne Murray, of Parkersburg, WV, and Sabrina Guinyard, of Newark, NJ; a host of nieces, nephews, and many other loving family, and beloved friends. He will be sincerely missed by all.
God bless your soul. Rest in the arms of the Master of the Universe.

I am praying for my dear family, the Williams. JC was a loving and kind person who always showed me sincere love growing up as a child. He is no longer in pain and is now reunited with his parents, siblings, and our angelic ancestors. May the Lord continue to hold you all close. Psalm 147:3. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Love always cousin Marian, Robb, and the children.
