  16. I pray for God’s continued comfort, peace and strength to be experienced by the Hawkins family in this time of great loss. For many reasons, I have the highest level of admiration, respect and love for Deacon, Sgt. Major James M. Hawkins. Very early in my ministry he believed in my potential and provided me wise counsel and honest feedback; I am so grateful for his confidence, encouragement and support over the years. Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins were ALWAYS cordial, hospitable and kind to me. I appreciate the time shared and I will miss him and our conversations, however, I rejoice that he knew God, has been promoted from Earth to “Glory,” from labor to reward and we will meet again, in Heaven, where he’ll hear God say, well done, good and faithful servant, where the sabbath will have no end, the weary will be at rest and God shall wipe all tears from our eyes.

  25. GREETINGS

TO The Hawkins family. Sir, I salute you. Ellis and I met as college football players then as College R.O.T.C. soldiers. We were commissioned the exact same time. He and Lisa became my forever friends. I love and respect your family. I have had the pleasure of spending some time with Dale as well. Ellis, and Lisa, showed me who his parents are by coming to see me when my daughter Zoe’s mother died and they showed up to be there for me. I am forever grateful. MR. Charlie always talked about your friendship and brotherhood. I thank Ellis parents that I have a friend like this brotherhood that Charlie talked about. So mother Hawk, I thank you for raising a son like his dad. A true friend forever. I am now in Atlanta but my friendship extends well beyond where I live. I once lived in the Greenview community with a wish, I could have met this brotherhood a long time before college. Many well wishes to mom Hawk and your family. Ellis and Lisa, I am a call away if needed. Expect me to ask about you mother Hawkins and we will be praying for the entire family. God’s blessings. Love MARK/Benita A. Brailsford Sr,

The installation of a mailbox turned into a 60 year friendship one that I would cherish the rest of my life, my Buddy as I called him was a honorable and Courageous man he would always tell you (what you needed to know not what you wanted to hear) his word was his Bond. We would meet each year in the center of cool stream Drive on the first of the year to greet, these last few years our age took its toll and that I truly missed. Take your rest my good buddy I got your six.
