  3. Condolences to the family of the late Johnny Gavin Sr. I love and will miss him so much and praying for those that knew and loved him. Johnny knew everyone in the Wedgefield (Sumter Co) area. Because he was like a brother to my husband, Calvin “Pee Wee” McCoy, they often drew me into their debates about the history of the families in the area. I called them the Snoop Brothers.
Johnny treated me like I was his daughter and always tried to tell me what to do. He was the alarm clock of all alarm clocks — faithful with morning wake up calls to my husband who by the way didn’t have to get up for work. R.I.P. Johnny. See you on the other shore. With Love, Cherlyn or as you so loved to call me Brownie. 🙂

  17. Sending my sincere prayers and condolences to the family. I remember Johnnie so well as my sister Annie Mae’s friend and classmate from Ebenezer High School, Dalzell, SC class of ‘67. Ann and I often laughed that I knew her classmates better than I knew my own. Johnnie was indeed special and will be missed!
