Mr. Martin and Patrick knew my car was in mechanical trouble when I would take it to them.To The Entire Martin Family, YOU ALL have my Deepest Condolences and my Prayers are with each and everyone of you. In Jesus Name, AMEN.
Patrick grew up with my brother and me in Satchel Ford Terrace (aka Valleybrook, Vanwood, and Brenthaven), when children still played outside and had to be inside when the street lights came on…He was a good guy who will be greatly missed.

Just sat in front of you at Zion Baptist on January 20.. We talked a little during service and a lot after service. I will take your advice brother. We said love you brother to each other not knowing that was the last time. Stand guard my brother in arms
Pat you were sitting in front of me on January 22 at Zion Missionary Baptist for MLK Day. We talked during the service and I remember you standing up and singing and clapping to a song. We talked after the program for about twenty minutes about life and the military. I asked if you were marching to the state house and you said no because a cop told you he would allow you to park in a spot but to move as soon as service was over. I said I love you brother and you said love reg. We both left and this was the last time I saw you and talked to you. My brother in arms!!!! Will miss you brother
Patrick will always be known as a good person who was always friendly. He got along with everyone.
He will be missed. My condolences to his family.
To the entire Martin family, you have my deepest condolences. There is a void that will not be filled because of your passing. We shared fun times as children racing mopeds with Wayne Belton and Sonny. Yall would come to Newcastle just to race me. As an adult we bonded through life experiences. I wish we would have been able to commutate more about life. When we saw each other, we had mindful conversations about our relationships and how life was treating us. We both enjoyed racing mustangs. Even though you had a Chevy motor. Lol. I know there are so many people hurt by the events that took place. I will keep your family in prayer
Patrick & I saw eye to eye! I gonna miss you my brother! He was my classmate! My friend indeed! ππ½ππ½ππ½ππ½ππ½

To the Family Iβm so sorry for your loss, Pat loved you so much, yβall were all he talked about. Family was so important to him and yβall were his world. I extend my deepest heartfelt condolences. Pat was a true friend, I will miss you my little brother. To the family if you need anything Iβm a call away Gunn, Patβs big Bro. We called each other brother so I will be proud of that. βA Motherβs Loveβ
I Rosetta (his mom) have a deep love for Patrick since I looked in his eyes after being born. He was special. Patrickβs name means noble, strength, honor and leadership, of which describes him; for his family and his military life.
Patrick was very protective of me and his love was also special. On one occasion Patrick knew I was preparing to have surgery soon and he asked Tracy to be there for his mom to care for her as if he knew, he would not be there. But now heβs my (mom) guardian angel, my son will always be on my heart.
On Sunday before his final departure, we spent time together at my house not knowing the hugs, kisses and the embrace would be his last visit. His final words to me on January 26, was β I love you , momβ, and my reply was, I love you Patrick more.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! My brother Pat! You were an Angel on earth with a kind gentle soul. You touched so many people with the short time you were here. Your earthly assignment had been completed and you did an amazing job as husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, etc. Thank you for your service to this country. Still just canβt believe it, but God makes no mistakes. You are now with our Father who will give you unconditional love, and he had another assignment for you. Thank you for always working me in when I needed a repair done, and still have your oily hand print on my truck.π My daughter was laughing at you talking trash about her car, but thank you for checking it to make sure she was good!πYou will be missed on this side, but we will see each other again as long as we keep our hands in Godβs hands. Thank you for the beautiful message you gave my nephew at church last Sunday. God used you to deliver his word. You took care of so many people, with wanting nothing in return, gave your service to help those who did not have. Take your rest Bruh! Until we meet again!
Rochelle we are here for you love! Sending love and prayers to you, the kids, and your extended family & friendsπππ½

SFC Martin and I served together in Iraq. He was a friend, and a brother. He and I would talk with each other on many occasions. He will truly be missed.

To dear Rose and the Martin family, I hold you in my heart and wish you strength to work through this horrific tragedy. I hurt for all yβall . I know how Patrick loved his wife and children; and I saw how he loved his Momma. Patrick was a good man and an example for generations. God bless yβall with strength and hold all yβall close. So very sorry.
My sincere and deepest condolences to the entire Martin family for your loss. May God continue to watch over you all as well as walk with you through this hard time
and beyond to bring healing and peace to you all.
Everytime that me and Patrick would have the opportunity to engage in a conversation it was always be about the family and asking how everyone is doing first of all. After that it was usually about car’s or we ended up picking each other brains about a mechanical problem that we may have encountered followed by “hey Bro try this and it should fix the problem”. I was shocked when I heard of Patrick’s passing. Me and Patrick met during school and our friendship grew over the passion for working on cars and attending races at the track. We served in the military during the same time in which our paths crossed a few times. Every time I use to pass the shop and would see him outside I would blow my horn at him to let him know ” I can’t stop rite now but I see you Bro ” and he would throw his hand up to let me know he saw me. They are alot of stories that could be told that I will hold close in your memory Bro. True friend from child to now are hard to come across and you definitely was one of them. Rest Easy and Rest In Peace. You will never be forgotten.
To Rosetta McKnight and the entire Martin family.. I send my deepest condolences to you. I was heartbroken to hear of Patrickβs passing. He was a wonderful person, always nice and a great conversationalist. Rosetta always said my baby when she talked about Patrick. She was so proud of him and his accomplishments..I will keep the family in prayer as you all go through this difficult time.
This is so hard, first and foremost my sincere condolences to the family. Cousin, when I moved back to Columbia and we ran into each other, it was like we never left the neighborhood (Valleybrook, Brenthaven, and Vanwood). I remembered when we were young my brother, Sonny calling himself running away from home. He ran right to your house in the garage. lol. You came to our house and said Oahn, come and get your brother. We had some good times. Just know that you will be missed but never forgotten.
Correction: Earthly loss.
Pat is my best friend cousinβs husband. But, when I initially had the pleasure of meeting him in person. We click instantly and we became siblings. Pat treated my brother and I like family he hadnβt seen in a while. Invited us in his home without any hesitation. Treated us with so much love and kindness.
That is a memory I will never forget get. His welcoming heart and the big ole smile.
I am so thankful for GOD allowing me the honor of having him(Pat)in the path of my journey here in this life.
Ro, you already know how I feel about you and the fam. So it goes without sayingβ¦I am available.
My sincere deepest condolences to everyone affected by this heavenly loss.

Rest in Heaven my Brother, condolences to the family You will be missed.
In Loving Memory of Patrick
I came here several times to extend my condolences to your family, and I just stared at the pageβthen closed it. Because how do you put into words the weight of a loss like this? How do you sum up a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories in just a few lines?
August 1, 1987, was the day our paths first crossed. I still remember us following you and Ms. Rosetta around JB Whiteβs in Dutch Square Mall, just being kids, not knowing that moment would shape a lifelong bond. Your mom saw us and just grinned. From that day forward, you were my brother. Not by blood, but by something even stronger.
Even when life took you far away, even during your tours of duty, you always called and made sure your sis and the kids were good. Thatβs who you wereβloyal, protective, and full of love. Losing you is a reminder of how fragile time really is. We always think we have more of it, until we donβt.
My heart aches deeply for the Martin family. I can only imagine the weight of this loss, but I pray that God wraps each of you in His comfort. That the Father’s peaceβthe kind that surpasses all understandingβfills every space where grief tries to take hold. And when the sorrow feels too heavy, may His grace be enough to carry you through.
Rest well, my brother. Your love, your kindness, your presence will never be forgotten.
Your sis always and forever…Tawanna
Ivan Peacock sending my deepest condolences to the family. He will truly be missed i served with Pat in Iraq. Love and my prayers to the family.
To the Martin family, may the Lord give you the strength you need to get through this difficulty time.
” Who has the best son in the world?” That was my introduction to Mr. Patrick Martin. That was a daily exchange between him and Little Patrick everyday he dropped his son off at school. What an amazing memory a father has left upon his son – to know that he will always be loved. I believe this was when Patrick and I became friends. We shared personal moments and moments of family and military life – he as a soldier – me as a military wife, and his love and appreciation for the staff at his son’s school. When he shared with me that he was a mechanic, I knew God didn’t make a mistake in our meeting that day! Patrick was unaware that at that time, I was having several car issues, but God! God sent Patrick to me!
Patrick will always be seen as a hero in my eyes – not just for rescuing my car but always showing love and affection to his son – not to mention his service to his country.
Ms. Rochelle, my prayers are with you and the rest of the Martin family! I pray that God gives you comfort in the midst of this storm. Always remember – it doesn’t matter what a situation looks like – TRUST GOD.
Your Montessori family has your back!
“Semper Fidelis” Marine!
Until we meet again!

“Only the good die young” applies to Patrick so much. He was a fine man, good father. Good friend to us and our sons. And most of all, he was his mother’s pride and joy. Rest in peace, Patrick. And Rosetta–be strong, and know we are there for you, no matter what or when.
Rosetta, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers at this very challenging time. You would say things about Patrick and then add that he was your baby. He was a fine young man. I will always remember him walking down the isle at Second Nazareth and sitting down right next to his father. He had a wonderful smile and a very easy going disposition. You did a good job with your “baby”. Pat and Herbert Garvin
