  5. As a student at AC Flora and an adult, I appreciate the kindness and support Bob Reynolds showed to me, my classmates and others. He was a man of few words but when he spoke, he shared wisdom and inspiration.
I thank God for allowing him to be a part of my village during the years I was being prepared for adulthood. He was one of our teachers (coaches) who showed us how to be our best and do our best.
I pray God continue to strengthen and keep his family.

  9. To Diana Baxter Reynolds, originally of Charleston SC & “my children” , Kanton & Jocelyn (“Joceee”):

Please accept my sincere condolences as you prepare to celebrate & remember your life long partner, Robert “Bob” Reynolds.
Whatever one could say about Bob Reynolds, surely it has been said multiple times over by all who knew him as a teacher, a coach, an
Athletic Director, an encourager to the many students over the long tenure of his career.
Needless to say, he was my History teacher, my sophomore year at the Historic Booker T. Washington HS in the sixties.
Later, as I entered the teaching, profession, unintentionally, my initial assignment was my a.lma mater BTW. The school closed at the end of the 1974 school year.
Bob Reynolds, Carl Van Williams, Nelson Squire & I , among others, were transferred to AC Flora HS. A year later I was sent to CA Johnson HS where I became fast friends with my colleague, Diana B. Reynolds . Over the years, we spent many long hours after school planning for our charges, as I also shared Bob’s antics wth her.

Finally, I’m sure that you & the family now know how much of an icon that Robert “Bob” Reynolds of 1 DeLane Dr. was to so many across this city & state for the many decades that he toiled.

May the many memories that you will now be able to reflect upon, help to sustain all of you throughout this bereavement period & beyond.
Blessings to all who knew & loved “the Coach”.!

  10. To the family of Coach, lifting you in prayer during this time of bereavement. I have so many fond memories of Coach Reynolds. He was not one of my teachers at BTW, but was a loving member of the BTW family. I would often have conversations with him about BTW when we would see each other and he reminded me to keep him informed about happenings and trips of the class of “64”. May he rest in peace.

  12. My condolences to the Reynolds family. Coach Reynolds was a mentor to all that had a chance to know him. Coach from riding on the equipment bus to the football games to the track field and class room you were always teaching us something. You put together my visit to Virginia Union University for me and 4 of my teammates. You helped us all throughout the process where four of us eventually signed. You also didn’t just put the trip together you went with us and made sure we made it to and from our destination safely. I didn’t realize how great of a track coach he was until I got on the track team where he talked me into being a pole vaulter. Once, I was on the team I saw how he coached every athlete no matter what the event was he was very knowledgeable about it and if you did exactly as he instructed you had a lot of success in that event. Coach I don’t think he ever forgot anyone’s name. He always greated me and anyone else that was with me by their name and a big smile. Coach you will be surely missed. Rest well coach until we meet again.
