Mr. Samuel Morris Addison, Jr. was born on Sunday, March 12, 1933, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the oldest of two children born to Samuel Addison, Sr. and Lucy Rose Addison. He passed peacefully on Saturday, July 10, 2021, and went home to be with the Lord. Mr. Addison was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1952. He continued his education at South Carolina State University. Samuel proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years. He later worked at United States Postal Service, as a postman. He retired after 34 years of dedicated service. Having been baptized at an early age, Samuel was a devoted Christian and man of faith, who believed firmly in the word of God. He was a member of First Nazareth Baptist Church, in Columbia, South Carolina. Samuel, affectionately called Bull by his friends and family, was truly adored for his witty ways, gentle heart, and bright spirit. In any conversation, there was always a humorous word from him that would bring a smile to the faces of those around him. He was a devoted husband and father. Samuel was preceded in death by: his parents, Samuel Addison, Sr. and Lucy Rose Addison; a sister Dorothy Clark; and a son, Darrel Addison, Sr. Mr. Samuel Morris Addison, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Gladys Jackson Addison; daughter, Sandariel Dunn, of Columbia, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Albert Jackson, of Columbia, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Darrel (Felicia) Addison, Jr., of Loganville, Georgia, Shawnta (Malcolm) Clarke, of Conyers Georgia, Markquis Addison, of Columbia, South Carolina, and Malik Addison, of Atlanta, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Sydney Addison, Morgan Clarke, and Malcolm Clarke, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving family, and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
