  1. Had Coach Corley for civics My sophomore year I believe, he was a really great man and an inspiration to so many besides myself, when I entered my senior year at AHS 1985, I went to his classroom and thanked him for being such an awesome teacher.. 4. Mr. Corley was my favorite teacher. As a young man from a dysfunctional family, he had the gift of knowing how to talk to young people. He genuinely cared. High school was a struggle for me and he was a breath of fresh air for a lost young boy. Though I never went on to become rich and famous, and I never became the next great mind, I believe that men like Mr. Corley helped direct me to my place of destiny. A missionary. Thank you sir for your life of service, and may the God of all creation comfort all who loved you. (Airport High School Class of 1979)

  5. Andreas, Kim, and family. Lela and I pass along our sincerest condolences at the passing of Mr. Corley. To me he was father figure, a tremendous role model who was of consistent spirit and caring throughout my life. Andreas, Brother, you know he used to be there for us when we played in the yard and at times got ourselves into trouble. He was always supportive of us. He introduced us to life experiences to prepare us to become good men in church and in the community. He was the “real deal!!” He will be sorely missed. God bless!

  7. “Servant of God well done”. My sincere condolences to Kim, Andreas and family in the loss of Mr. Sam. I spent many days at their home and was always welcomed. Mr. Sam was a true servant of God and practically made Turner Memorial AME Church his second home. Rest well Mr. Sam with your loving wife and my dear friend Sister Dot.

  8. Andreas, Kim and Family,

I remember your father from my youngest days when I visited my grandparents (Nolton and Eva Caughman) in the summers. Like others, I knew him as John Morris, only to find out later that his name was Samuel. I last saw him at my Uncle Nolton’s funeral service. He had asked about me to make sure I was there. We sat near each other during the service.

I am sorry for your loss and my prayers are with you in the coming days. May God bless you.

  13. Dear Kim, Andreas, and family,

I’m so sad to hear that my dear Uncle Sam has transitioned.

I called him Uncle John when I was a kid.
My mother Alberta his big sister always called him John Morris. I didn’t find out his name was Samuel Morris until 2000.

He was always a source of family pride , fun, and happiness to me.

I’m happy he was in my life and appreciated spending time with him when I was a kid and when I became an adult.

I’m glad I kept in touch with him with birthday cards, father’s day cards, and Christmas cards, and phone calls and visits.

He was a great man and I will miss him.

With much love and sympathy, Nephew Marvin Blassingale

  14. Dear Kim, Andre, Shacara and Cameron my deepest condolences in the loss of Uncle John Morris(Samuel).
Uncle John was the best! I always enjoyed the times that mom, dad, Verne and I would always come to South Carolina and stayed with you.
I remember dad and uncle John would be together reminiscing about the good old days and mom, Aunt Dot, Kim and I would be at the malls shopping. I remember the good food we always fixed. Those were the days!! He will certainly be missed by loved ones far and near. Please know that my prayers will be with you now and always! Be comforted in knowing that he is with Dot and the rest of the family at a grand Corley Reunion in heaven! Singing and rejoicing and praising the Lord! With all my love cousin Pat.
