Always bigger than life, Scottie was a brother of the conscious melanated revolution that I embraced. We shared so many thought-enthused conversations concerning our space in Babylon. Rest in peace, warrior King.
My Elementary friend, middle school and high school friend on the grid iron at Lakeview High. Memories will always be in the upmost respect for him. My condolences goes out to the family for God peace, strength and comfort doing these times of bereavement.

To all the family and friends of Mr Scottie Chestnut, let me say that in the celebration of his life, he is the guy that has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From being childhood neighbors, best friends, homies, my brother, uncle, cousin, some times even that father figure. He was all of that. Those that knew him well knows how much he’ll be missed by us all. From that infectious laugh to his devotion of all things Lakeview. I will remember him always from our being baptized at Mt. Zion, to the service of our country, to raising our families. He was always there. My condolences to family. His work is done. Rest in peace, MR. SCOTTIE CHESTNUT, “my life long friend”.

To my brother whom I loved so dearly and will miss very much. We were close and did so much together, now I do not have you to do things with anymore. Heaven needed you more there then we we did here on earth as your work here was done you gained your wings to fly beyond and reap your harvest. You will always be loved, remembered and will never be forgotten.
Scottie, my friend, classmate, and brother, made me smile when I did not want to. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. He will surely be missed, but he will always be remembered and live in my heart. Rest in Paradise, dear brother, rest!
Scottie was the consummate promoter of the “Lakeview School” legacy. He vigorously supported all functions and events centered around the school’s history. He coined the word “Lakevuvians” and initiated a weekly “all things” debating group of unlike-minded ‘68 classmates termed “The Amigos”. Luncheons, celebrations and get-togethers for this group of close friends lasted anywhere from 5 to 12 hours.
As one of “The Amigos”, I give high praise and great tribute to his sons and daughters for the truly outstanding care they provided him, especially during the difficult final months of his life. We all miss him dearly, and his compassionate and jovial spirit will forever be a part of our lives.
My condolences and prayers for you and your family 🙏🏾. We love you ❤️
