So glad our family was able to do some vacations with him and Yolande, go to concerts together, sit and chat together and sometimes just have a good drink or two with him. Yolande know that you are in our prayers. We love you. Know that God will be with you and all the family. Our condolence to Bill, James and Nicole. 29. The William “Bill” Whitney we knew lived a most purposeful and purpose-filled life…

Our family rejoices in having the privilege and honor of cherishing a plethora of blessings shared with this valiant, kind, and generous man for more than 60 years. We proudly call his name and lift him up to the heavens where a caravan of social justice warriors await him. His legacy to his family, his friends, his alma mater, and the state of South Carolina is indeed awesomely inspiring. Our family adoringly deemed him “Our Man from La Mancha (Maybinton, SC).” He was dearly loved.

  32. Bill and I became fast friends in 2008 when we worked with the 2010 Census! I was so very pleased when he and Yolanda came to my “senior citizen “ wedding in Charleston in 2011. And he frequently called me in OKC to make sure that all was well with me and the new husband! Bill gave his heart and showed how much he cared! Much love to Yolanda, his family and friends! Fond memories ever more…! Tricia (Lecque) Woodward
