Wilson’s amazing life journey began on Wednesday, May 25, 1966, in New Rochelle, New York.  He became the son of Wilson Samuel Rowson, Sr., and  Rose Lee Rowson (both preceded him in death).  He was the second to the oldest of four children born to this union. On Tuesday, August 20, 2021, God sent His mighty Angels to call our beloved husband, father, uncle, and friend to many, Mr. Wilson Rowson, Jr., home to glory.

Wilson was educated in the Richland One School System, graduating from C. A. Johnson High School.  In his quest to further his education, he attended Midlands Technical College for Electrical Engineering.

He first worked at Fluor Daniels in Nuclear cleanup. He went on to earning an Industrial Certification from Michelin Tires, where he worked for 28 years.

Wilson had vast interests in many activities.  Over the years they included: being Drum Major at C. A. Johnson High School, working as a Medical Explorer, volunteering in the hospital, earning a certificate in Who’s Who in music, playing drums and keyboards for the Reality Band.

Wilson was united in Holy Matrimony to Cynthia Anita Jones Rowson. He was the proud father of a loving daughter, Clayanita Luerean Rowson.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Amy Dianne Rowson; and a brother-in-law, Dr. Jacob A. Holmes, Jr.

Mr. Wilson Samuel Rowson, Jr. leaves behind to cherish his fond memory: his devoted wife, Cynthia Anita Jones Rowson; a loving daughter, Clayanita Luerean Rowson; two siblings, Elizabeth LaLa Rowson and  Joseph Nkemika (Caroline) Rowson; a sister-in-law/love, Dr. Teresa Jones Holmes; a host of nieces and nephews, Adam Emmanuel Rowson, Daniel Isaiah Rowson, Joshua Alexander Mahoney Rowson, Courtney Briana Wages, and James Austin Taylor; his special buddy his grandnephew, Grayson Oscar Wages; many other cherished relatives, cousins, colleagues, and friends, who will forever hold his memory dear in their hearts.

  10. To the family of Mr. Wilson:

I remember when I was growing up as a dance student at SCPAC, Mr. Wilson was a dance dad. Not just any dance dad, but one that would lift our equipment (usually pretty heavy) on stage and carpool my brother and I to and from practice at times when our parents were busy. He would always cheer Clay on from the audience and support the team! His good spirit and light hearted sense of humor always made us feel comforted!
He was a great man and the memories will be cherished.

Praying for Mrs. Cynthia and Clay during this time of mourning. Thank you for sharing your husband and father with the world! May he rest peacefully. 💜

  11. Cythnia,
Expressing our deepest condolences doesn’t denote the sympathy we feel for both you and your daughter (other family members as well). Yet, mother (Harrison) and I (Paulette, and other daughters Valarie and Janetta) offer it all the same.

To say that Mr. Wilson will be missed is an understatement! He was the epitome of a great neighbor. His genuine loving care and acts of services were always gentle reminders that God was looking out for you… and he was that willing vessel seemingly always yielded to be used. His rewards I believe, will be great. His labors of love and kind heart did not go un-noticed by God above.

We are sadden to know your love will no longer be by your side. Yet, are grateful to know he had you in his life.

Tears are flowing and for now heart & heads bowed low, but we pray the God of comfort continue to strengthen and keep you all.

We joy in knowing that one day for those in Christ, that we will all meet again

Until then we will treasure our memories and life lessons learned from Mr. Wilson. He was selfless, caring for others until he transitioned; never complaining about his own challenges. He will be always loved and never forgotten ❣️
