Supervisor Ann Dickerson Bragg, the daughter of Robert Friday Sr. and Annie L. Grimes Friday was born on November 18, 1938. She entered into matrimony to the late Edward Sylvester Dickerson. To this union three children were born, Ronald, Brenda and Ricky. She later married the late James Bragg of Los Angeles, California. Our beloved Mother died the way she lived, praying and thanking God. Mother loved her family, but she loved the Lord most of all! During her testimony wherever she was, she always said, “as for me and my house is going to serve the Lord!” Mother began her mission work in the streets of New York over forty years ago witnessing to anyone who would listen to her and inviting them to come to church and begin a relationship with Jesus Christ. While also serving as the District Chairlady, her main focus was on young ladies and single mothers with children, many who were saved because of her plea for them to come to Jesus before it was too late. After leaving New York, Mother continued her witnessing ministry in the streets of South Carolina continually bringing souls into the Church of God in Christ. She worked at Voorhees College. When other parents heard there was a sanctified woman working at the college, many of them sought her out and asked her to look out for their children to make sure they continued to attend church. In order to do this, Mother would make several trips back and forth to the college campus on Sunday morning taking the students to church. After leaving church on Sunday, she would then prepare meals and feed many of the students at her home before taking them back to the college campus. After moving to California, Mother continued her soul witnessing and assisting with clothes and food giveaways at Liberty Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Harvey Tyler. Mother also began working with Mother Naddie Conedy who was the Supervisor of Puerto Rico at that time. Mother also served as the President of the Southern California Evangelistic Jurisdiction Mission Department. Each second Saturday after her food giveaway distribution, Mother prepared herself for street witnessing and the Midnight Mission in downtown Los Angeles where she oversaw the Skid-Row ministry. After having a brief service of singing and ministering, the people attending the service would receive a sack lunch, water and homemade cookies. Each month, Mother visited the nursing home and the homes of the sick and shut in. The Lord had revealed to Mother that she would be going to a foreign country. She just didn’t know which one. In 2005, Mother Ann Dickerson Bragg became the Supervisor of India First Jurisdiction. For almost every year since becoming the Supervisor, Mother made an annual trip to India. Over the last fifteen years, Mother’s mission in India included raising money to assist pastors in the opening and the dedication of new churches, helping to build baptismal pools, building men and women restrooms in the churches, dedicating an ambulance in the name of the COGIC to transport the poor who lived in remote areas to the hospital. Mother walked through wooded areas of India to reach and feed the very poor, assist pastors, and to feed and pray for the many people who traveled miles often on foot to see and hear her spread the word of God. Each year, Mother took suitcases full of food, candy and clothes to distribute to the people in India. After going into the woods and seeing many people with no homes or shelter, Mother opened up a food bank distributing rice and beans. Many of the people sought Mother out for prayer for their ailments and other needs. She purchased food and prepared huge meals to feed people who traveled many miles to hear the Word of God. Mother worked with many leaders in the Churches of God in Christ including, Bishop O. M. Kelly and Bishop F. D. Washington in New York, Bishop F. J. Goodman of California as well as many Churches of God in Christ Women Supervisors including National Supervisor, Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis and former National Supervisor, Mother Willie Mae Rivers. She was the Young People Willing Workers (YPWW) Chairlady, Youth Leader, Purity President, Pastor’s Aide President and Usher Board member. She also served as the Southern California Evangelistic Jurisdiction Acting Women Supervisor under Bishop Christopher E. Milton. Mother holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Minor in Sociology and Criminology. She was the president and founder of Love and Life for All-Now No One Without (LALFANOW-NO WO) an organization which fed, clothed and offered prayer for the underprivileged. Our Mother had a Worldwide Healing Ministry as well as a street, hospital and convalescent home ministry. Her motto was, “It’s all about Jesus!” She leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Ronald Edward Dickerson, Columbia, South Carolina, and Brenda Dickerson Brown, Atlanta, Georgia. She was adored by her two granddaughters, Sonya C. Reid, Houston Texas and Rene A. Brown, Atlanta Georgia. Her four great grandchildren Te’A, Andre Jr, Abrianna and Alex who affectionately called her Gigi. She was a sister to Ruthella Rearden, Robert Friday (Carrie) North Augusta, South Carolina and Lonnie Friday, Augusta, Georgia. Three Sisters-in-law, Barbara Friday, Atlanta Georgia, Frances and Carol Dickerson, Florissant, Missouri. One aunt-in-law, Erma Grimes, Charleston, South Carolina. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews’ and Godmother to Penny Walker, North Carolina. She was loved by her spiritual daughter, Brittany Anderson and spiritual granddaughter Kadrina Baker both of California. She also had a host of other relatives and friends that loved her and will truly miss her. She had a special love for her Church family, members of the Church of God in Christ. They in returned loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Dickerson and son-in-law, Alfred H. Brown Jr., Brothers, Joe L. Friday and Willie J. Friday. Brothers-in-law, Elijah A. 13. I spoke with Mother Bragg about three weeks ago, I had returned Her call, when Speaking with Her, She sounded somewhat weak, but She knew that living in these Clay Houses was only temporary. She was always known to be as a Woman of God, Spiritually Focused, and exemplified Holiness not only in Her Attire, but in “Right Living.” I saw Her at the Car Wash one day, I turned around and approached Her saying, Mother, You look so Godly Attired, Her humble reply, “this is how I always look, I’m Representing Holiness”! Well now, Enough said . . . . To Her Children, and “All” Family Members, Be Blessed, hold fast the “Memories” of A Wonderful Woman! PS: The LORD Willing, I will be in attendance of Her Service via Meet.com . . . Thank You for Making this Opportunity Available.
