Mrs. Diane Perry Matthews was born January 15, 1956 in Saluda, SC. She was the beloved daughter of the late Bennie and Gloria Perry. Diane fell asleep in death on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
Diane, our mother, was a beautiful, strong, ambitious, and loving woman. She was a sister, wife, mother, and friend. She was a professional seamstress, a master cosmetologist, and an all-around artist. She was very head strong, standing for what she believed in, and she loved whole heartedly.
One thing we will remember about our mother the most is how she loved to look good. When you look good, you feel good she’d say, and, we will forever keep this in our heart and family, because we are a representation of her. She lives through us. She will be missed and she will always be loved.
Mrs. Diane Perry Matthews leaves to cherish her precious memory: her loving husband of 40 years, Tony Matthews; her children, Princess Butler, of Columbia, SC, Shatara Scipio, of Columbia, SC, Querrie Matthews, of Columbia, SC, Anthony Matthews, of Columbia, SC, and Megan Matthews, of Columbia, SC; her grandchildren, Farah, Gia, Marcus, Christian, Jaycion, Kayden, and Jaliyah; her siblings, Lavern (James) Thomas, of Aiken, SC, James (Betty) Perry, of Atlanta, GA, Thaddeus (Jaunita) Perry, of Aiken, SC, Bennie (Ruth) Perry, of Columbia, SC, Bennie (Stephanie) Perry, of Aiken, SC, Francine Rabb, of Batesburg Leesville, SC, and Kendra White, of Columbia, SC; lastly a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
