  1. Please accept my sincere condolences DF an Donnette and family. I will forever hold a special place in my heart for my bonus Moma Ethel. I have a lifetime of sweet memories for I was at the house daily. She always greeted you with she sweet smile and always had a special treats. She loved her family an grands an always was a good listener and gave great advise. Back then it took a village to assist with the neighborhood kids a task she was willing to embrace an a lesson in faith too she also showed me an Deb how to sew. Wilkes Road lost our Matriarch an she will never be forgotten for her work here is complete. Please take you rest for we will miss you dearly.

  3. THE GREENVIEW REUNION FOUNDATION
To the family of Mrs. Ethel Abney,
Our prayers are with you in the loss of your dear loved one.
Mrs. Abney has been honored by our organization as one of the outstanding trailblazers in our Greenview Community. She was among those who built our community through personal sacrifices made during those early years of “Jim Crow”; yet who persevered with God’s strength, determination, honesty, and integrity. Greenview was where our families were bonded in “neighborhood togetherness”: the children all played and went to the same schools, and then went to church on Sunday. This is how your dear Mom, and all our parents taught us… to love God, and family; to be kind to one another, and respect those older than us… lessons that we learned and still carry with us throughout life.

May the comforting peace of our loving God be with you in your loss; may He bless you with beautiful memories of a life well lived, understanding that earth has no sorrow, that heaven cannot heal. Keeping you in our prayers,
Officers & Members of Greenview Reunion Foundation

  10. D.F. and Donnett,
On behalf of the Alston family, our heartfelt condolences go out to you. Your mom and my mom have been very good friends for over 70 years in the Greenview Community. During those day, families used to look out for each other and it did take a village to raise a child. We will continue to keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. Just know that God has the entire family in the palms of His hands.
