  2. For my cousins, all six earthly Sons of Aunt Gaynell and her one heavenly Son, my heart, my soul is full of love and respect for our family. It is healing to gather together in this Ned of grief. To look around and see we rally around each other in love and true bonding for the collective soul of this family.

    We are blessed! And, we were and still are blessed to have had the benefit of having Aunt Gaynell walking among us and teaching us what real love for family means by the simple means of example.

    My heart hurts, it hurts so bad because I can’t pick up the phone and just tell her whatever I may need or want to. So my pain is personal and selfish.

    I will never lose the love you instilled in me. The tremendous love exhibited by all of your siblings.

    I love ❤️ you so much Auntie and I always will. Your niece.

    We, the members of the North Columbia Civic Club extend to you our sympathy and condolences in the loss of your dear mother.

    Her legacy lives on forever! She was a positive example in the Greenview Community; a determined registered voter who stood for the rights of her people. May we continue to fight for the freedoms, and for all the benefits as deserving American citizens for which we are so rightly entitled to, for which Mrs. Gaynell fought for.

    May our faithful God comfort you, and strengthen you with his abiding peace during this time.

    We are deeply mourning your loss along with you. Greenview gifted all of us with incredibly extended families who shared unceasingly and unselfishly on so many levels with each other….she was definitely a member of that group!

    Mrs Rogers-Glenn lived a life of faith and devotion.. She was not fearful of the storms in her life, rather allowed God to land her safely on solid ground. We will always remember her for the kindness and respect she always displayed for others…. She was a Greenview icon and will surely be missed.

    Sending our love and prayers of support as you navigate her loss. Much love and many prayers 💕🙏

  39. From the Lewis Greenview Family to the Rogers-Glenn Greenview Family.

    We remember the days of baseball in the field and the laughter we shared when the Rogers-Glenn family (Willie Glenn) would load all of Greenview’s aspiring athletes to line the back of a pickup truck and ride off to whip up on baseball teams in State Park, Pontiac and Elgin. Those really were the best of times never forgotten. Mrs. Glenn was a mainstay, the holder of the flame and the reader of the gospel when as children we did not do the right thing (just like all other Greenview mothers). So we offer you a poem when we think of mother Gaynell:

    The Brook

    I come from haunts of coot and hern,
    I make a sudden sally
    And sparkle out among the fern,
    To bicker down a valley.
    By thirty hills I hurry down,
    Or slip between the ridges,
    By twenty thorpes, a little town,
    And half a hundred bridges.
    Till last by Philip’s farm I flow
    To join the brimming river,
    For men may come and men may go,
    But I go on forever
    I chatter over stony ways,
    In little sharps and trebles,
    I bubble into eddying bays,
    I babble on the pebbles.
    When many a curve my banks I fret
    By many a field and fallow.
    And many a fairy foreland set
    With willow-weed and mallow.
    I chatter, chatter, as I flow
    To join the brimming river,
    For men may come and men may go,
    But I go on forever
    I wind about, and in and out,
    With here a blossom sailing,
    And here and there a lusty trout,
    And here and there a grayling,
    And here and there a foamy flake
    Upon me as I travel
    With many a silvery waterbreak
    Above the golden gravel,
    And draw them all along, and flow
    To join the brimming river
    For men may come and men may go,
    But I go on forever,
    I steal by lawns and grassy plots,
    I slide by hazel covers;
    I move the sweet forget-me-nots
    That grow for happy lovers.
    I slip, I slide, I gloom, I glance,
    Among my skimming swallows;
    I make the netted sunbeam dance
    Against my sandy shallows.
    I murmur under moon and stars
    In brambly wildernesses,
    I linger by my shingly bars;
    I loiter round my cresses;
    And out again I curve and flow
    To join the brimming river
    For mean may come and men may go,
    But I go on forever –Alfred Lord Tennyson

    May God bless and keep you the Rogers-Glenn Family

They were among the early families to make Greenview their home and make it a great neighborhood. Our hearts go out to you during this difficult time.

  54. We pray God’s comfort and peace to your entire family. Mrs. Gaynell as we called her, was a faithful member of Greenview First Baptist Church, and she was a member of my father (Dea. Alexander Middleton, Sr) ward. She always asked me how he was doing when his health began to decline, and the same for my mother. God Bless all of you, and may He keep you in His care.
