  2. My prayers and condolences are extended to the family of Mrs. Jean Alice Robinson. I have known Jean since I was a child growing up in Emmanuel AME Church and living in the same community. She has been an inspiration spiritually, educationally, intellectually and has served notably to others. She many positions in the church with dignity and expertise. She graced our Worship Services with her melodious soprano voice. She taught her students to become productive and notable citizens. She was an immaculate fashion icon and those who came in contact with her benefited from her expertise. Heaven has gained a beautiful rose in its flower and an extraordinary worker in the vineyard.

  9. I was so sorry to hear of Mrs. Robinson’s passing. Many years ago she was one of the volunteer tutors at A.J. Lewis Greenview Elementary School where I worked. She also served as one of the school’s substitute teachers having substituted in my class. I remember her wit, style, and commitment to education. She was a very classy, snazzy dresser. My condolences to her family. May she rest in heavenly peace.

  11. Our prayers for God’s comfort and our deep condolences to Mrs. Jean Robinson’s family and friends..
I am saddened to learn of the passing of my last remaining Carver Elementary School teacher.
She was a true treasure to many of the area African American Baby Boomers!
Her disciplined and thorough teaching style influenced, challenged, and encouraged her students’ various gifts
    and abilities and creativity.

Ms. Green, as we knew her then, was both my husband Sherman’s and my 5th grade teacher during different times.
She directed me to various paths, which enhanced and grew my God-given natural abilities.
And over the years, Sherman has spoken many times of his 5th grade, boy’s view of Ms. Green as a “pretty teacher”!
And we both have very fond memories of Mrs. Robinson when she attended our, respective, 65th and 50th birthday celebrations.
She helped enliven the events both times with her wonderful, light-hearted, humorous tributes.
And whenever we would cross paths with Mrs. Robinson on Fort Jackson, she was always, always! well clad.

May your sweet and loving memories of Mrs. Jean Griffin Robinson help to soothe you and bring you joy in the coming days.

Most of the time if you saw one the others were not far behind. She was beautiful inside and out. Now the 3 amigos will be back together again. I thank God allowing Mrs Robinson to be a part of our lives. Take your rest beautiful lady. My condolences to the family.

  19. Growing up in Columbia, SC….I have known Mrs. Jean since 1976. We were neighbors in Highland Park. Although many knew her by her nickname ‘Mean Jean Green’ back then…I am delighted to say that she was the total opposite of this as a person! As one of her elementary school students, I quickly learned that she demanded the very best of ALL of her students! She always maintained her sense of class, fashion, and style! Thank you for blessing my life with your example of excellence! The 🌎 world is a better place because of you Sister Jean! Blessings to your soul as your legacy continues to be remembered!
