  8. To the Mitchell and Hope Family,

Praying for God to strengthen you where you need Him most.
I have so many good memories of Kathy. We were good neighbors on Washington Street, school mates from Howard School through high school . Study partners on school projects, spent many hours at the Richland County Public Library, on Sumter Street, at that time. Making sure to be back home before dark,as Mrs. Villean and my mother drilled us with. We already knew it was our best interest to remember our Moms.
Just a good and dedicated friend .
Very smart and caring person, always serious about our studies.
We were inducted into the National Honor Society at the same time.
Many of us will miss you, Kathy, you always had God in your heart and showed it, in your life.
Thank God for allowing us to connect. I will never forget you.
    Rest in Peace!

  22. One of the best to ever do it. Mrs. Hope was passionate about what she taught us. She imparted so much knowledge that prepared us for the world. Mrs. Hope had some of the best catch phrases in the world…“Just because you’re B-L-A-C-K don’t mean you have to act S-T-U-P-I-D!!” “This ain’t Burger King you can’t have it your way.”
Truth be told I use these on my students and players.
    My condolences to the family.

Her heart was large enough to offer kindness and caring to everyone who had the joy of knowing her. Her caring spirit and positivity brought warmth to the lives of many. She was an example to be emulated by all who knew her. Her sun has gone down, but the afterglow will remain for years to come.

  34. I have MANY fond memories of this beautiful educator! Some were in the profession for a mere paycheck (yes, as a 7th grader, I could tell the difference). THIS woman went ABOVE & BEYOND what was required of her as our Middle School social studies educator! A cut above no doubt! Ms. Hope (formally Woodard), THANK YOU for being a bright light for my passion for staying up on current events, educational pursuits, and helping others as a chaplain, educator, & pastor myself! May your legacy continue to bless your family, friends, and former students! The 🌎 world is a better place because of YOU! God bless your soul! Well done! ❤️

  39. A good woman is proud of herself. She respects herself and others. She is aware of who she is. She neither seeks definition from the person she is with, nor does she expect them to read her mind. She is quite capable of articulating her needs. A good woman is hopeful. She is strong enough to make all of her dreams come true. She knows love, therefore she gives love. She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated. A good woman has a dash of inspiration, a dabble of endurance. She knows that she will, at times, have to inspire others to reach the potential God gave them. A good woman knows God. She knows that with God the world is her playground, but without God she will just be played. A good woman does not live in fear of the future, because of her past.

Mrs. Hope was a phenomenal woman. A beautiful soul was taken too soon, but I know you are in a better place.

Letita praying for you, your dad, and family.

  47. To William, Leticia and the entire Hope village,
I grew up with Kathy back in the day at Zion Baptist Church. She was an intelligent woman with the weirdest handwriting I had ever seen in my life! Kathy loved her friends, her husband and Leticia. I remember her crying at the grave of her mother, Ms Villean Mitchell. I was young, but felt very strongly for her grief. Kathy was a devout believer in education as witnessed by her daughter, Leticia. Kathy loved the Lord. So I have NO doubt that her soul is resting with Him!
None of us were expecting Kathy’s sudden and unexpected death. But, we’ll understand it better by and by.
Kathy I have the fondest memories of you. So please let my village know that I’m trying to make it in.
When all God’s children get together, whAT A TIME there will be. I love William and Leticia. Don’t cry for Kathy. Just live to see her again in Heaven. She’ll be waiting up there!
