  1. Sue Mae, as I read all of the heartfelt messages for you and your children and family, I could not help but know and stand on the fact once again that you are and always will be one of the very best of the best. No one was more serving to others than you! You loved so much and in such an honest and pure way. Taking family members to see others, always at the hospital when someone needed a familiar face so they might not be afraid, you were always THERE! Tireless it seemed, but tired you must have been. We in this large and devoted family will miss you so very much! Your contributions go beyond anything I could write āœļø about here. To Uncle James, Mel and Jammie, I love you all so much and my heart broke with the news of your Mom and Wife passing on to GOD. Patsy, Evelyn, Jessie, Mac and beautiful Aunt Marjorie, while pain settles sometimes, hope and joy always follows like a fresh spring of water šŸ’¦ from a streaming brook, early in the morning with the sun ā˜€ļø shining and our Lordā€™s assurance, everything will be alright. I miss you all so much and I am eternally grateful to belong to a family so incredibly loving, close in heart and in good deeds. May we be able to join together soon and rejoice in the lives of the ones we had to say farewell to and remember our loving Sue Mae who always let us know, everything is going to be alright with GODā€™s help. Blessings to you!

  2. My Deepest Condolences to The Portee Family! I worked with Mrs. Susie at Crafts Farrow and she was so very helpful to me. I was young and just starting, Iā€™ll never forget the time I needed a ride home from work and I lived the very opposite of town from Mrs. Susie and Mrs. Susie drove me to my front door.
God has truly picked one of HIS most Beautiful Flowers šŸŒŗ! RIP

How do I thank God for putting us in a family together. I praise God for all of you but I am so thankful for Susie–Aunt Mag’s partner in crime. God broke the mold when he finished with Susie: family reunions, helping the sick, cooking and doing for others. What an awesome testimony. Send me Lord was her calling. Thank you three for sharing your mother with us.

Thank you cousin Susie for being a living witness for God. Praises shall always be on my lips for this daughter of the most High King.

  5. Susie, you will be missed. We canā€™t even begin to measure up how much of a giver you were day in and day out. I remember when our house burned down you were the first to meet us when we came back into town. You and James even gave us a place to stay at your house. Thank you for all of the good memories. We love you!!!

  18. Cousin Susie, I am heart broken to hear of your passing and regret that I did not stay in closer contact. I want to thank you for standing by my side when my mother was hospitalized and in failing health in January 2015. Your support at that time assisted me to accept the situation. Being in California, I was not able to see you often, other than at the Bush-Mitchell Family Reunions. You will be forever missed. Kenneth Peters and family.

  24. My beautiful cousin who did not know any strangers bc they were just people she hadnā€™t met. You treated them as if they were the most important person in the world. Yes, God took great piece of quality from this world bc loving people such as you donā€™t come a dime a dozen. Your presence will surely be missed but we are better bc God chose to shared you with us for this short period of time. You have certainly earned your wings bc you loved us as he loved you. My heartfelt condolences are extended to the Gibbs, Portees and Bush Family. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. My dear cousin has moved on to a higher calling and you will be missed dearly but never be forgotten bc you will continue to live on in our hearts forever! Love and God bless you!

  30. Uncle James, Melodie, Jammie, lads and the rest of our family: I still can’t believe Aunt Sue is gone. She was a joy and always there for everyone–even when she wasn’t feeling her best. She wanted all of us to excel, be happy and love God.

Christmas will never be the same because she won’t pull up, hug everyone and remind me to send a check to Green Hill. Lol. We all loved her and she will dwell in our hearts forever.

  32. Our heartfelt condolences to the Portee/Gibbs families. It was a privilege and great pleasure to have known and been a part of Susie’s life during this earthly journey. She was such a joy! You could see that big bold smile and the love in her eyes before you would even get close to her. She was compassionate, an encourager, and was not ashamed of her love for the Lord! We believe Susie is in His Glory right now! James and family, God will keep you in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him. Look to the Hills from whence comest your help.
    Love,
