  7. To the Kimpson Family,

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Wilhelmina Page Kimpson. Mrs. Kimpson was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many through her kindness, warmth, and unwavering belief in doing what was right.

I knew her as a Smith Club officer who served alongside my grandmother and as my GATE teacher at Crane Creek Elementary. Her soft-spoken yet stern ways did a lot to guide a sometimes rambuctious child. It was always wonderful to see her over the years and to be the recipient of her sage advice.

Her legacy as an advocate and educator lives on in the hearts and minds of everyone whose life she touched.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May the memories you shared bring you peace and comfort in the days ahead.

    With deepest sympathy,

    Elliott Willingham, Jr.

My heart was saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Wilhelmina. I met Mrs. Kimpson as an Educator, and also at St. John Baptist Church. Mrs. Kimpson was a rare gem. She was willing to reach down and help you, and help you shine, taking very little credit. She was always full of Wisdom, and nuggets for life. As a Church member she worked hard in the Vineyard, and lets not forget her Smile, which reached into your heart. She will be missed! May God comfort, and keep you in the coming days

  67. Dearest Family, particularly the (M) brothers, as you prepare for the eulogistic worship for one that I have known & admired since my early days at Waverly Elementary School,
I also extend my condolences as so many have already.

She, as I remember, was a young teacher hailing from Dillon County whose class was on the 2nd floor at Waverly Schoʻl and obviously was the “apple of Milton
Kimpson’s eye as I saw it.

As with your late Father, the eminent Dr. Milton Kimpson. Sr.,
    who among us in the
Columbia community has not known of Wilhelmina Page
Kimpson as that young teacher entering the teaching profession after graduating from JCSU as she parlayed her professionalism as an elementary teacher for many years until her elevation to the administrative level.

As time passed & this “observant youngster”
matured, I encountered Mrs. Kimpsom at many levels; educationally, civically, politically & in church work in our respective churches over the years.

We became entrenched in our work with the Cola. Branch NAACP, under the leadership of Dr. Lonnie Randolph, Jr.
Our paths continued to cross as educators & with Benedict College,
Dr. Kimpson’s & my alma mater.

I will continue to be an admirer of this lady of whom I have held in high esteem over the many years that I have known her.

May the life she lived be a beacon for those left to revere memories of a life well lived!
    To God Be the Glory!
